Hold on I got the Ashley dialogue....It wasn't cut
It was that scene for scene....

Video proof homie.

Damn I would love to, but I don't have a capture card and I don't feel like replaying Mass Effect 3 again
I know you guys aren't going to take my word for it, because I wouldn't
but I am not crazy, I remember all of that lucidly.

I read the whole thread waiting for someone to post what I did because I can't be the only one
I went to youtube and couldn't find anything
Whats going on here

The Ashley part could have been cut because there already was enough autodialog in the game.

The Jack speech could have worked. But I guess it was either that or the day one dlc. :pinched: Can't have time for it all.

I think it's from leaked script.

It was from teh leaked script.  I've read it.

The screenshots shown there are just lifted from the stuff leading up to the love scene.

the closest Ash comes to saying any of that (and believe me, I've looked) is taking her to Cronos station and reviewing the Lazarus Project logs.  There's a very abreviated version of that dialogue.

My personal suspicion was this was meant to be a conversation she and Shep were to have in his quarters after inviting her up for a visit.  Like James and joining the N7 program or Tali's talk about taking ehr father's place on the Admiralty Board.

What I don't get is why they would leave those files on the disc/download. By doing that, BW is kind of asking for trouble if you ask me. "Here, have a look at what we decided to cut from the game, you will never get to see it, just LISTEN!!11"

Granted, I don't know squat about programming/coding etc. but it should be reasonable to assume that they could have cut those files entirely if they wanted to, no?

Certain things have to do with Microsoft and their limits (that might only be for DLC, if I remember). So, if Bioware decides to cut out important character development in favour of fetch quests, or Allers, that makes me question a lot of things

I'm curious about what else would of been lost if they released it on their original date... bah, I wish this game had 6 more months to it.

Truth be told, it needed another full year. Not only to actually give us a decent final mission, but to iron out the many bugs that plague the game.

any idiot could make ME3 into a pretty good game.

unfortunately for us, bioware is filled with those kinds of idiots.

Because some people have really messed up priorities.

I'd rather take that one Jack dialogue than any of the fetch quest, to be honest.

This exactly.  I haven't seen the Jack one yet, but it sounds awesome.  I just loved these characters and they matter more than some stupid fetch quest.  Ashley wasn't one of my favorites, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked her-she's just as tragic at first as everyone else and finds a place with the one person that does seem to help everyone care about themselves.  I came to love the dialogue that Shepard has with her in ME1 about her thinking with her heart (Shepard says something about how she uses her heart in thinking about missions).  And then I thought about how she lives in the shadows of her father and grandfather.

But, it's this way with all of them-Jack is fantastic and in many ways so much like Miranda in the way they were grown, what they were meant to become.

I wonder why anyone would object to Ashley asking Shepard that in the light on her beliefs. We all know she believes in an afterlife, so really, why did they cut it? It seems natural that she would ask, and it's a really good scene.

I'm an atheist, and I don't see anything in that dialogue my Shepard couldn't have said.

Agreed.  I doubt it was due to a fear of discussing religion, though.   Though, it is funny that a number of Paragon lines throughout the game paint Shepard as religious, himself.  (Talks about Mordin looking down on them, and putting in a good word for them, on Tuchanka if you say "He was a good friend".  Says something similar about Kaiden, and likely Ashley, when talking to Garrus after the Citadel Coup.  The line about saving Garrus a seat in heaven, during Priority: Earth, are what come to mind.)

Was pretty awkward playing a Paragon atheist Shepard, and getting lines like that.

Well as an athiest paragon, your Shepard's just being polite Image IPB

But as to this scene, I can't imagine it was a fear of discussing religion, given that Shepard's three answwers basically amounted to

I saw nothing
I saw something, but I don't know what it was
I shouldn't be telling you what to believe (refusing to answer)

That's why I get so annoyed when I see the ME2 cast in ME3, they could of gotten so much better treatment, even from just a few lines or one or two more scenes.

From the cut sections of leaked script, don't be surprised to find this released in a future DLC. From Ashes, Leviathan, and Omega were all in the leaked script, but were cut for a cash grab, er, important plot purposes, and released for a monetary fee at release (From Ashes) or later (the other two).

Wow, I never heard of this before. It's a beautiful conversation and I'd have loved to see that in game. Why was it cut? Who knows, many possible reasons for all sorts of cuts. But thanks OP for sharing the link to that. It was nice to see even out of the game.
