I added a cave mouth to an exterior error, something I have done in other areas, and I now get an error when posting locals. Anyone else been able to fix this? I saw another thread where someone basically just started over, but that is not an option here ... this is my main area and I have 50+ hours invested in it.

Has anyone else had this problem? I can fix it by going back to an old version and NOT having a cave mouth ... or I can try it in a different location. Perhaps there are some z-axis issues here? (I have the cave mouth nestled under a "slum" frame of a house. But it says it is a walkable area.

The model I added was ... cav wallhole c 0

Here are some excerpts from the toolset log.

Well, it appears ANY change made to the old version generates the same error. So I am stuck with the old level.

I delete non-physical elements (like terrain collision walls) and I can post locals.

I add or delete a real object (statue, walls) then I get the error.

BUMMER.

I think i had this error before. You need to delete the level's startpoint then add a new one then manually recalculate pathfinding (there is a button for it). This seems to have solved my problems, maybe worth a shot?

Hell yeah it's worth a shot! This has consumed my soul for the last 48 hours.

OK, I spoke too soon. Still stuck with the same problem. Any real change gives me the error.

I fixed it. This is all conjecture, but I think my problem lies in the fact I created all my levels in version 1 of the toolset, and later tried to tweak them with a later version and there was some sort of database conflict.

Here's what I did to once again be able to edit pre-existing levels.

Some of this may be unnecessary.

1) Backed up my art folder just in case. This is where all my level files are stored. I created a RAR and put that in a folder on my desktop.

2) ReInstalled the latest version of the toolset using the instructions here. http://social.biowar...abase_migration

3) Created a new module.

4) Unpacked my RAR in the new mod's art folder.

5) Opened the levels and tweaked them. Local posts now succeeds where it once failed.

Hope that helps someone.

UPDATE!

I am almost certain no one cares about this topic other than me, but thought I would post my ultimate findings regarding this error. Hopefully, my problem is unique to me.

The cause of the error appears to be collision walls!

If I remove any collision wall that is in the same chunk as my startpoint, I cannot post locals.

I can remove any collision wall that is NOT in the same chunk with no problem.

I cannot move my startpoint and post locals, it makes the original chunk that held the startpoint unwalkable. You get physics/pathfinding errors if you try a new startpoint.

So, if you get this error, you need an old version of your level file that contains the original collision walls you placed in the startpoint chunk, else you will never be able to get it to post locals.

I hope my endless experiments help someone (maybe Bioware, who can fix this).

No prob, you are plenty helpful. I figure the problem was so unique no one had any ideas. I am just glad that horrible mess is behind me. I posted locals 30 times on a huge area before I figured out the prob! NIGHTMARE!
