If your military commander tells you to stop something you continue doing that thing? Is that how the military works?
Believe it or not, if your commander issues what you believe to be an unsound or illegal order, you are, in fact, supposed to question them.
I can't help but suspect that the main reason you don't like her is because she doesn't like Liara, and you're attempting to justify it through other means.
Constantly, without taking it to higher ups, after they told you to stop?
As for the second sentence, you can believe what you want, I don't want a conversation about Ashley to be derailed.

Stop breathing? Kill yourself? Kill innocents? Or how about something serious in life such as Benghazi?Our_Last_Scene wrote...

I recruited Liara after Benezia and, unlike the rest of the crew, she constantly second guessed Liara despite the fact I told her to stop.
So, because somebody tells you to stop questioning them, you should automatically do so even if they haven't done a single thing to change what made you question them in the first place?
Politicians must love you.
If your military commander tells you to stop something you continue doing that thing? Is that how the military works?
So to answer your question, to some degree. If an order were to seriously violate my morals, I would disobey without second thought. Same goes for inappropriate orders.
Ashley was acting out of good conscious by continuously second guessing Liara, not to ****** you off for sh!ts and giggles by disobeying your order. Hell, I wouldn't trust the daughter of a known adversary right off the bat, and neither does Ash.

Because she's not sure how to approach a potentially touchy topic? Just a thought.
She questions him despite him being in charge, after he answered her question.
She's explaining her reasoning. And sSHepard can shut her down wit hthe "you're out of line" option.
Did you not see the video I posted where Ash shoots Udina herself? That' pretty much sums up why I like Ash.
Even then that video I linked shows she talks about Cerberus long after Mars, despite you saying just a few posts previously that she doesn't do that.
And she doesn't. You know why
Because I convinced her I wasn't with Cerberus anymore End of story. Full stop.
Tough to understand I know

1 She questions Garrus and Wrex having access to all the Normandy systems. Not the same thing. Heck this is stuff human civilians shouldn't have access to without a proper security clearance
Why did she question Shepard after 28 seconds? Does she not know how chain of command works?
Pretty much this sums up why people hate Ashley. It captures the character of her completely.
You only get that line if you're hostile to her throughout the game. Your hatred for her is completely unreasonable.

She does what constantly? Can you quote her saying it more than once on the issued subject. Because, either I am not understanding what you are talking about, or you are exaggerating since I remember her talking only once about it.

OP, If it makes you feel any better, I've played through ME1 more than ME2 and ME3 combined, and I completely forgot about that line on my last playthrough. Long story short, my Mountain Dew came out of my nose! Do you have any idea how bad it hurts to get carbonation in your nostrils? My eyes watered for an hour. And it was worth it.
Also: ME1 FTW!!!! My favorite conversations in the entire trilogy, take place in that game. Just getting to know all my favorite characters and what makes them tick. Also the music, exploration, and the entire last Act of the game from Virmire to Ilos to the Conduit. Just amazing. Hope you enjoy it. It's a hell of a ride.

"Stop questioning me about Cerberus I'm not with them."
"Stop questioning me about Cerberus I'm not with them.
"I'm not explaining myself you you again."
*Garrus shoots her* "Ashley they were with Cerberus!"
"I hope the Reapers send you to hell"
Woah, that's perfectly reasonable response.

Never had that conversation in any of my three ME 3 playthroughs.
It seems I was doing something wrong. Like, I dunno, being nice to her.

The problem is the only way to be nice to her is to indulge her paranoid ramblings.
Which I always end up doing because my Shepards are terminally reasonable, but still.

WOAH...granted I've never killed her. And I know you can and she will say that "Reapers send you to hell" line.....but, I always thought Shepard shoots her. Your squadmate shoots her? Because if that's the case, I'm gonna try it.Our_Last_Scene wrote...

You can be professional and friendly with her and everything will be ok. Her paranoid ramblings pretty much stop after Mars. There is none of that in her hospital, Citadel, Memorial wall, Normandy or date scenes. (to be honest there is a tiny bit in the first hospital scene)

I've always played it relatively nice with her. Sometimes a renegade response on Mars and stuff....but I've told her to "Step aside" (renegade choice), plenty of times without killing her. So, I'm pretty sure you have to be a straight up d*ck to her, in order to kill her.SeptimusMagistos wrote...

"Gun!" ::BLAM::
I find that a pretty reasonable response. But then, I don't treat Ash like dirt

Honestly, the hospital scene annoyed me. Seriously, Ash? Now you accept that I'm not with Cerberus? What about any of the three times I told you I wasn't with Cerberus before? Did a robot wailing on you reactivate the part of your brain that lets you see Shepard's paragon score?

I think she realized it before, when you talk to her on Mars, but this was the first time she got the chance to say because of the action on Mars.

Wait, not indulging in her paranoia and not shooting her is considered treating her like dirt?

You mean like:
Ash: "Is it really you in there? Do you even know? I mean, could they be controlling you"
Shepard: "Ash..."
Ash: "I'm just talking out loud. I don't need you to answer. I... I doubt there's anything you could say to convince me. I guess I just need some time to get to know you again. To find the guy I used to love"
Shepard: "I'm the same person I always was Ash. And I want you with me, wherever this takes us"
""That's what I needed to hear"
If only there was a scene like this on Mars...

I never indulged in her paranoia (don't even know what that is, can you give me some sources) and everything was fine. The example you gave can only be triggered by not building enough rapport with her. So yeah, you treated her like dirt.
