"I hope the Reapers send you to hell"

Woah, that's perfectly reasonable response.

"Udina, step back from the console"

"Gun!"  ::BLAM::

I find that a pretty reasonable response.  But then, I don't treat Ash like dirt B)

Wait, not indulging in her paranoia and not shooting her is considered treating her like dirt?

The heck are you even talking about?

I never indulged her paranoia.  I just showed a little patience and didn't blow off her concerns.

And not doing that is considered treating her like dirt?

In the example given, Garrus shot her, not Shepard. It wasn't even an order. Yet her last words are still pretty harsh.

I've seen those "not indulging paranoia" responses.  All I can say is "Yes".

"Lick my boots or be crushed beneath them" is not a good way to ease concerns.

If you hostile to her, game thinks that you are Renegade. This line is pretty fair to Renegades from ME3. I wish them burn in hell too.

Honestly, the hospital scene annoyed me. Seriously, Ash? Now you accept that I'm not with Cerberus? What about any of the three times I told you I wasn't with Cerberus before? Did a robot wailing on you reactivate the part of your brain that lets you see Shepard's paragon score?

You mean like:

Ash: "Is it really you in there?  Do you even know?  I mean, could they be controlling you"

Shepard: "Ash..."

Ash: "I'm just talking out loud.  I don't need you to answer. I... I doubt there's anything you could say to convince me.  I guess I just need some time to get to know you again.  To find the guy I used to love"

Shepard: "I'm the same person I always was Ash.  And I want you with me, wherever this takes us"

""That's what I needed to hear"

If only there was a scene like this on Mars...

Goddammit, Ash.

Huh?

I will agree that was harsh, but i also think it was completely unnecessary to have her say that and i blame that on the writer, not her character. This also an alt death scene for her. Her more common death scene has her says "I had to take a stand. You taught me that."

Also doesn't Kaidan have an alt death scene where he says something harsh to Shepard before death. I'm pretty sure i've heard it before.

She won't listen to explanations and she wants me to spend time convincing her about things she should have learned back in ME1.

It's not my fault she missed the 'get to know Shepard again' party. Now if she wants to sit down and listen to Shepard explain his motives for working with Cerberus, what he did for them, and what they did for him? That's fine. If she doesn't and insists on bringing it up anyway? There is a galaxy of people out there who believe in Shepard. I don't know why he'd choose to run around with one of maybe five people who don't.

So you consider answering someones question twice and then telling them you're not repeating yourself crushing them beneath your boot?

Therefore it's perfectly reasonable for the other person to say they hope the Reapers send you to hell because they still didn't believe you later on and your squadmate shot them?

You can get into this situation only if you responded roughly to her first time. I never had to explain anything to her twice in any of my playthroughs. Again, your fault, not hers.

Therefore it's perfectly reasonable for the other person to say they hope the Reapers send you to hell because they still didn't believe you later on and your squadmate shot them?

It's pretty reasonable she said anything considering you just had her killed. This is a moment of extreme anger and adrenaline rush where ppl say anything. I would forgive any curses on my account from the person I just shot.

That's why I hate ME3. You are forced to be in conflict with the VS and you can't explain your actions. Another confirmation that your choises doesn't matter in this game. But it's not the VS's fault or Shepard's fault. It's writer's fault.

She saw footage of Shepard shooting the Salarian Councillor in that scene. From what she saw, that's all she needed to utterly convince herself that her speculations about Shepard were true. So in her death, she truly believed he was crooked.

I believe if she sees the footage, she can trust you if you attempted to regain her trust earlier in the game.

Which would be great if Shepard actually shot her, which never happened.

I must have missed that scene. I remember "explaining" myself only once and it seemed to me she quite got it. Her future behaviour implies she got it (at least in my playthrough)

She wants to be sure Shepard is the same Shepard as in ME1.  Thus why seh has to "get to know him again"  She has to see that Shepard's not a puppet of the Illusive Man.

And in that scene, for romanced Ash at least, it's possible to still reassure her.

Let's all be honest for just one second here. What is Shepard was being controlled my TIM? How would Ashley look then? Because everyone else would've just followed him without knowing any better, while the VS remained cautious.

Point is that it's not unreasonable for Ashley to take precautions towards Shepard's resurrection. In fact i would say it was very professional of her.

You just admitted you ignored her the whole time, even though she asked for you. I am gonna call that treating her like dirt. And the "I was to busy saving the galaxy" argument doesn't work in ME 3 considering all the side activity. You didn't visit her because you didn't want to see her and talk to her. She knows it.

Which would be great if Shepard actually shot her, which never happened.

It's not about who pulled the trigger. It's about emotions in an irrational state. Read my post again.

The way it sounds like your Shepard handled it, yes.

Ignore her, berate her, get the salarian Councilor killed and show no real interest in convincing her you're not with Cerberus anymore.

Therefore it's perfectly reasonable for the other person to say they hope the Reapers send you to hell because they still didn't believe you later on and your squadmate shot them?

If you believe the person who just got you killed is betraying the galaxy, why not?

What side activity? Curing the genophage? Uniting the mercs?

Gonna do a repeat of what i said in a thread last night....

Ashley is demonized by immature Mass Effect fans as a racist bible-thumping Jesus freak b**** because it decomplexifies her.

To stereotype her is both easier and more compatible with what some fans think a young woman in a futuristic space-exploration settting "should be". Namely that such a person should be atheist, passive, and completely trust of all aliens. This mindframe makes it very difficult to actually engage in any sort of discussion regarding religion or "racial politics" in a near-future space setting.

You cannot allow Gene Roddenberry's narrow interpretation of the future to constrain the discussion and progression of far more reasonable depictions of science-fiction and the near future.

Ashley was demonized on BSN?
Why?
She was one of the most realistic characters in ME1, second(or first :D ) being Udina(and Council, but that is a group of characters).

Well, i guess no wonder that mature themes were dropped in sequels.
Looks like Witcher series dropping themes like elves-humans mutual hatred :wizard:

In other words, don't pander to her.

"So were you, I hope the Reapers send you to hell"

"were you"

Otherwise known as past tense, not present, so she took the time to admit that Shepard isn't with Cerberus just before she told him she hopes the Reapers send him to hell, because Garrus shot her.

Aria's missions, Jondum Bau's mission, Barla Von's mission,  not to mention the truckloads of War Asset stuff to be unloaded...

Yeah Shepard has absolutely no reason to visit the Citadel...

Edit:  Not to mention jusdt plain "buying stuff" to equip SHepard and the squad.  What you can't stop in  and say "hi" while buying a medigel upgrade?

Way back when, the devs said that Ashley utterance was a mistake. Interesting that they STILL haven't fixed it.
