Those platinum extractions are not required; they can be compensated by doing weekend challenges. I have the Best of the Best banner and have not played platinum since Retaliation was released.

I'm not saying it can't be grinded on bronze. You just need to invest time, that's all. And two gold solos can be done with easy mode kroguard vs geth.

I prefer running no banner at all. I quite like the banner.jpg I get on the N7HQ.

Also, I only saw few with said banner that were actually good to great players, at least that I'm aware of (on ps3).

Anyhow, one should not look for banners or CP if they want an indicator of skill, much like N7 ranking was and still is.

I plan on being banner less for ever! I do mean to brag when I say I consistently score almost twice as much as the guy in second. never got the banner but I don't care. Its funny how we value these things.

Everyone can get more free time by replacing sleep with a mix of coffee, 5 hour energies, and rockstar.

Uh...no. You may not feel tired but the reflexes or thinking isn't quite there. Sorry, everytime I cut my nights for whatever reason I can feel the difference at work, no matter the amount of caffeine in my blood. I can also see the difference when my my own staff does so.

I didn't say that the transition would be seamless. :P

Figured it was apparent that that was a joke. I mean, it IS what I do, but I have trouble getting to bed before 3 AM either way, so I'd be a four-hours-a-night guy anyway. I guess that's the difference. Because of this, I'm permanently in that reflexes-and-thinking-not-all-there state, so it doesn't exactly seem abnormal to me.

I've only met two people who wore it, and they're both pretty good.

Don't forget that some people do have the banner but don't display it because it's ugly and because being called "Best of the Best" is kinda ridiculous.

Sometimes youve got uber lag. Sometimes you play a weird build. Sometimes youre just lazy. I have botb and often come in 1st. But if i dont? Who cares? If somebody beats me and they feel better about themselves-- cool.

Mediocre player is very able to do it , it doesnt need skills

I have the BotB and I consider myself above average but I did all the 200 wave challenge with the classes that I enjoyed the most or was most easiest to play. Now I'm just chilling, playing all kinds of various builds/kits/characters/weapon combinations that I haven't tried before and I'm coming in 2nd-3rd most now in PUGs were as I'll usually come in first. But I long since stop wearing the banner and mostly try to put on a banner corresponding to the character or enemy I'm playing against.

I'm close(ish) to mine and the ONLY time I would ever display it is with a kit that I'm particularly comfortable with. And even then, probably just amongst friends.

anyone who cares about points in a co-op game is weird.  half of the games i play in, i play a support role and keep my teamates alive and de-buff  and do objectives....getting out alive is the goal people... xp is added up and split evenly anyways

I have only seen 2 people with the BotB banner. They are also two of maybe 5 of my friends on my friendlist that are better than me. I say they are at that level.

"This is on PC".
*insert trollface here*

Well...
1) Perhaps you were playing with people who modded their games so they could get the banner fast.
2) Maybe they were just messing around since they technically have nothing to work toward since they got the 'I did everything' banner.

Don't recall having seen it. I'm not likely to get it because I'm unlikely to get Lone Wolf. Soloing bores me.

So, let me see if I have this right:

Some ME3 players cheat.
Cheating makes it easier to get banners and N7 rankings.
Therefore, everyone with a banner or high N7 rating is a cheater.

In a broader context, that is not the kind of outlook that builds a happy life, is all I'll say.

Err....BotB means they have gotten the Lone Wolf Banner....right? Out goes the argument that it doesn't take skill.....I will never have this one.

That just proves they're at least an average player... Soloing gold is a joke with kroguard + cyclonic or a TGI.

No. It's not. For the (vast?) majority of the playerbase it will be impossible, Kroguard or not. It may be a joke for you or for me (my first gold solo actually was an 'accident' because noone joined my Kroguard match) and most BSNers, but most players will struggle due to objectives and wave 11 kiting.

Actually, challenge progression can yield infomation.

As opposed to N7 rank and stand alone challenge points, you can actually get an idea of what  people do in a game based on their challenge achievements. For example, the best of the best banner inevitably means that the player has a great amount of experience with more than just a handful of weapons and classes. You know they had to play over a 100 gold games (map challenge) and have solo experience (regardless of what with) which is probably more than the average player has done. Having the BotB banner does, as a consequence, suggest you are inside a broader understanding of the "best".

I'd expect a player with the BotB banner to have a complete manifest, and tons of gear (always using equipment), never hesitating to use medi-gel or rockets. I wouldn't expect them to top the scoreboard just because of that banner.

Exactly, you nailed it.IMO the difference between an average player and a good one relies on what you wrote.
If someone thinks that the skill is meassured by topping the scoreboard on each game, they dont know what this game is about:teamplay

I don't understand the point of this thread!   You jealous?...since DLC you played handful of characters and weapons, platinum only on Giant - and you complain about BoB not performing awesome in a PUG match?

Some games I play in the way "what doesn't come to me I will not kill" and only fighting hard when its needed.

At this time saying that having BoB doesn't mean you're at least experienced and probably skilled player is wrong.
Exceptions exist (cheaters, silver players who got Lone Wolf in 50 attempts), but 99 % are very good players.
