Is that meant to be an insult? I don't care if I don't have it, my statement still holds true: challenges require time, it's a grind not a show of skill. Someone can take 3 hours to solo platinum if they play really carefully. 200 waves with each character? A grind. 200000 points with each weapon? Another grind.

So what you're saying is, basically anybody can solo Platinum, who have 3 hours of spare time?

Were pretty solid players.
I think the other accused me of missile glitching with my krogan Soldier specced for power dmg and fire explosions and me using all of my 5 missiles smart. (Lots of target waves.)I couldn't quite hear him right but he was kinda angry at me managing to destroy things better than him.
He left a bad taste from the experience.
Other was an extremely good vanguard player. Team synergy was pretty much me behind the vanguard spreading prime powers of all varieties and him going through the enemy exploding everything along the way. he got downed once or twice but either medigeled or I managed to cover him. But when he changed to something else he had a harder time really.
Good solid player really was fun playing score hound with him.

I know just from playing PUGS that a lot of people would not be capable, ya know the people who die frequently and refuse to use medi-gel ... those types.
Every other banner can be achieved slowly by playing gold in a group and getting carried.
And I've yet to see the banner on the PS3, dont know if any of us have it.

Whoever made the Best Of The Best banner should slap himself as best he can right across his own face.
You know, the best idea for the banners were that they gave you fun titles. Not that they were supposed to mean something. And if you think having a banner that says you are the best of the best Mass Effect players means something, go get a life.

Anybody who can move, fire a gun and get behind cover has the potential to solo platinum. Just kite all the enemies around and slowly kill them one by one. It require a bit more skill than other challenges, but you don't have to be mlg legit to do it.

You should try soloing Platinum some time. The enemies have other plans for you during those three hours.StrawHatMoose wrote...

Just becuase you might be able to do it does not mean everybody can do it, remember not everybody is an amazing gamer, any human has the potential to become an proffesional footballer but that does not mean everybody can do it.

Lone wolf is the only skill based banner, believe it or not but not everybody can do 2 gold solo even with krogaurd against geth, I would happily guess that if every player tried 5 gold solo's less than 25% of them would complete 2.

I've played with at least three PS3 people with the banner, so they're out there. Probably not as common as the XBOX or PC though, given that the PS3 player base is significantly smaller.
Anyway, I don't have the BotB yet, but I'm very close -- just three challenge completions away, and they're just grindy ones (bloodpack, outsider, and promotions). I don't really know or care whether I'm considered to be a "skilled" player or not -- I'd call myself slightly above average -- but I know that going for the BotB banner has probably improved my skills, or at least made me a more versatile player now that I've played hundreds of gold and plat waves with various characters, even ones I don't like, and different weapons.
So basically what I'm saying is that BotB isn't really a measure of player skill, but I'd venture to guess anyone who did grind it out in a legitimate fashion has improved their own skills in some way. This obviously does not include missile glitchers, people who leeched 200 waves of bronze, and other types of cheaters.

Well, since you don't really have to solo Platinum to begin with, the original point still stands.

score?
the score can reflect many wrong details. like kill stealing by fast rof/DoT power(no kill stealing in this game but the kill is most of the time not killed by u)
using reegar with warp/incendiary ammo on every character?
harrier only?
seriously using high DPS weapon get high score every time does not mean they know the tricks of others weapon.
score may be one of the indicator, but not all
i wonder how to define skills

It takes time to get the banners, not skill. Some of them may be screwing around with odd, inefficient builds because they have been playing certain builds for banners for so long. Some players may in-fact be average players compared to other players.
Take your pick. Personally, I destroy the boards when I play kits that I play well and let's face it, some kits are just insane for leveling entire waves in no time BUT when I play a kit I'm not at all familiar with I'm sure I seem average as well.
I was sort of thinking this. People hate on the incisor, but it kinda worked on the salarian. Point is while theres better, after maxing a manifest and getting botb why not have fun w/ dumb and not often used combos of powers/weapons... GPSMG, on a Tsol.. fun. Hurricane would blow it away sure... but fun. Trying to outscore people with a shuriken... again not good by any means, but potentially fun. Lashing away a krogan melee, priceless. Sneaking up on people as a n7 shadow dressed like a phantom and meleeing them and having them turn around and shoot you... also priceless
End game is end game, when credits dont even matter and no more challenges... my best bet is on goofin off.
About a week ago people did a claymore jav drellgaurd vid. Newest is a 4 man volus merc w/o weapons vid. End game is end game

Just because I farm Geth with Shotguns doesn't mean that I'm literally a Street Sweeping Cyber Warrior.
If I participate in (what is it, 9?) weekend challenges, suddenly I'm an "Operator". Operator of what?

I don't really even work on banners that much anymore. But I do solo a lot, so getting solo/tech/biotic mastery over and over again just seems to happen. Combat mastery is also something that should happen fairly often.
Some of the others (enemy-specific, map mastery etc) should also just happen naturally. Again, it's all about time, really.
The best player I know only has one banner. And that's the Corsair one which was for a weekend op.
