Ok this is for female gammers to comment on do you like how they've potrayed the ladies of your crew clothing wise? Do you like or hate the fact that BW moved in ME2 - 3 to crew women characters who wore heels, had their bust barely staying in their attire, or flat out changed from modest to barbie doll?

Does BW make you feel like they're catering more to the male players by making the ladies of the Normandy wear the sexy outfits or do you feel ok with this fashionista potrayl and still feel respected as a woman playing their games?

Before anyone cries strippers those are a give in back in ME they had them and their job was to allure at least their customers present at the facility the arm candy girls in Kasumi's mission make sense because that was their job as well but I'm talking about fshep's awful dresses, Allers outfits, Samara's, Jacks, ect.

Obviously by my post you can see where I stand I thought in ME the Normandy crew women and fshep were potrayed well ME gave the impression to me that I (the female player) was respected and so where my female crew mates and main character all of us had hardsuits and our casual clothing wasn't too tight (more like casual fitting).

In ME2 I felt BW didn't respect my female crew or me as a female player because Jack shows up in an anime bra strap top, Samara's navel V-neck, fshep's horrible dress for Kasumi's mission, Miranda's cat suit w/ heels and ass shots to demand you pay it attention,  it screamed BW wanted eye candy same in ME3 Ash was modest and proffesional in ME now she's fahonista with cleavage look wise she was so radical she should've just been another person, not to mention all the girls got more of a bust line  Aller's tight assed skirt with shots to demand you look at it again.

So am I alone on this as female gamers do you like the sexy female crew attire or not?

What about remidies?

For me one remedy would be to please both the males and the females is all female crewmen and female protagonist will be first seen and recruited in clothing that is either modest for casual wear or in hardsuits if you recruit this person in a battle area. Once on ship w/o having to do extra missions you auto get 3 outfits on them your sexy, cool but modest, and modest all these looks would be for casual clothing and hardsuits woudl be cool but made for protection like the BDTS armor was that was good looking for fshep but was practical too.

I would also tell BW right now when I say make them modest I don't mean give us burkas. We don't need our ladies coverd head to toe like the female krogan or wearing panchos we just need respectful clothing like ME had but with a bit more stylish flaire to it.

After seeing how skanky women dress in this generation, it doesn't surprise me to have ladies of the future dressing as they do in Mass Effect. Hell, it's infinitely tamer and more civilised than what I see most days when I'm in town center (except for Jack's gear).

I like big butts and I cannot lie.

But, "You know its beauty when the smile is her best curve."

Jack outfit suits her because her body is a work of art, beautiful and she uses it as a self-defense technique. Why she didn't wear armor when in space? Bioware not thinking. She could of had some sick looking light armor, all worn out, with graffiti even, oh the possibilities.

As a 28 year old guy The Miranda ass shots annoyed. I felt like BW was just catering to the 13 year olds. "Look, look, ass!!!"
And then my companions not wearing space suits in space. So you know, we can see samara's giant melons.
I don't mind some sexuality in video games, in fact I welcome it, but everything should have its place. With Miranda I her catsuit with a little respirator instead of a space suit it just pulls you out of the illusion.

Femshep has 3 lesbian romances that go to the end of the game (Kelly, Traynor, Liara)
She has 2 potential straight romances that go to the end of the game (Garrus and Kaiden), one of whom is bi, one of whom can't be romanced without an import.

As a 19 year old dude, I say it's just annoying, especially with Miranda. I liked Liara before she had knockers big enough to use as a ballast.

In space.

I liked Ashley as a character far more in ME1, she was a tough girl, and a marine. She didn't need the hairdo or any of that crap, and victimizing her in the mars mission weakened her as a character, a lot.

Samara I find a bit off, after all, she's ancient, and she's not interested in anyone, seeing as her children turn into homicidal monstrosities. She's kinda giving off the wrong vibe, but in a way I see what they wanted to do with her.

I'm not sure what they want out of the ME franchise, and I'm not even sure if they know.

I like Miranda, for reasons other than her looks, but they certainly didn't hurt

It's kind of funny, because even though I'm a straight male, I preferred the female characters who didn't have enormous breasts or walk around half naked.

Which is a pretty short list, sadly.

How about Ashley "uniform" in ME3?
I think it just as horrible. :wizard:

Agreed. I became interested in Miranda because of Miranda. Her looks caught my eye (anyone who denies this is kidding themselves), but the character itself is what kept me hooked. Though I won't say no to Miranda being voiced by and modeled after one of the most attractive women on the planet.

I'm a female player and tbh I don't care about "sexualization" of women in ME series. All I care about is that it should be realistic. I don't care what they wear ON the Normandy, they all could even run naked for all I care... but in combat, how the heck are they supposed to survive?

Take a good sniper and Miranda, Jack and Samara are dead.

I also don't like what they did to Ashley. I don't know anyone who can grow A cups into C/D cups within 2 years. Space magic I say. But hey, at least in combat she had a real armor.

PS: Tbh the character customization is LAME in all MEs. All Shepards look kinda the same if you try to make femShep look decent (without using mods). Also all of hairstyle and make-up options are bad... Give us more variety!

Yes, the one that comes with an Appearance Pack that you have to buy to get. Not everyone spends money on costumes. In game, her alternate apperance is her catsuit, but in black leather.

Anyway, not a chick so I can't comment on most of this, but Miranda's ass shots were very annoying. I like the character and adore her VA....they really didn't need those camera angles at all.

Honestly, after how they treated femshep in ME3 ,the Miranda butt shots don’t seem like a big deal anymore.  Comparing them now, ME2 was a lot more respectful of female gamers because of how it treated femshep and her choices. I didn’t feel “punished” for choosing a female shepard during ME2 and she was treated the same as maleshep. That (for me) was more important than what my crew mates wore. I had every confidence that the mass effect team would continue this trend (treating femshep fairly) but then ME3 rolled around.

None of male shepard’s LI’s were admittedly forgotten about right to the last second (Thane, yup they forgot he was a LI *facepalm*) None of maleshep’s romances dumped him and got knocked up by someone else (the guys would have LOVED that “realism” I’m sure). Maleshep had an option to tell Ashley off at the hospital , femshep just accepted that she “cheated” on kaidan >_<. There are more examples but ME3 was the first bioware game that made me feel my choices were limited because I was a female character.

I agree completely and on all accounts, but it is unfair to say that she only gets the catsuit

Don't forget two straight Romances which are axed; one of which caters to racial sterotypes.

Also, those two straight romances won't appear in every ME3 playthrough.

Garrus needs to be started in ME2. Kaidan can die in ME1.
