Does Liara? Does Tali? By far the two most popular love interests for a male Shepard?

Liara's ****** got bigger.

Tali's face is a human model.

Heck even Tali's body goes with this; those hips aren't just normal.

Maybe not normal for a human.

Also Liara's a growing young (for her species) woman. It is not too alarming that her breasts grow bigger as she gets closer to Matron stage.

Yes, that was really what Bioware had in mind, hahahaha.

So, tell me, what exactly does a developer need to do to avoid being so horribly sexist? How are they supposed to 'portray' characters to avoid accusations of this sort of thing?

Not say anything about sex appeal.

****, they're doomed regardless, so it's a lose/lose.  They'll be seen as "sexist" regardless of what they do.  I'm not saying they are, don't get me wrong, but certain mindsets behind a change really bug me, personally.

Oh come on, it's nearly as bad as the asari race as a whole.

Stop acting as if women are walking sex objects maybe?

No, women are not portrayed as sex objects. Because of what? Because they're attractive?

The clothing, the mannerisms and the gratuitous ass shots prove otherwise.  You're clearly a dude, so you don't get to experience the wonders of being objectified sexually. You get to be a man, a human being, wherever you go.  Women don't have that privilege.
You'll notice in mass effect that there are no male srippers, not one of the males has tight pants like Miranda, none of the males wear high heels, and all male armor is battle-appropriate (they're adequetely covered, and the women, if they wear ANY armor at all, wear shapely boob plates  (hint...not battle appropriate.) and some wear high heels).,

Sheesh!...You REALLY need to learn to read....this thread alone answers this very question repeatedly....Real Armor,  no heels, stick to original boob size, hair tied back in battle, a little more choice than almost lesbian only femShep, NO MORE *SS SHOTS!

Does that just about cover it?

I completely agree with everything you guys are saying here. The women in ME deserve better than what they got. Armor and no high-heels, no 'breast plates' (bad pun is bad), FemShep romances, etc....

That said, Miranda is still my favorite

Yep.  I understand Jack's clothing when not in space, it's not hard to put two and two together, but they should of added a set of light armor for her when out in space.  I understand the sense of "uniquness" for characters armor, but as seen in ME2, it took certain immerision out for certain people (not me personally, but I understand).

I wouldn't be surprised if they were thinking of making the gay guys happy. And I suspect that we have a femShep not for female gamers, but for boys who want to see some girl on girl action. I really don't think they care much about female gamers.

It's about the female characters in Mass Effect. Not sure why that needed to be reiterated.

If we're at the point where people are saying males 'get to be human' in real life, then we're no longer talking about Mass Effect.

Could someone explain to me how stiff ceramic or metallic armor is supposed to work for females if not for 'boob plates'? Modern armor is no good for comparison since it's flexible fiber and cloth.

I'm certain they do, but we don't know what type of statistics they're getting about who's playing their game, plus I'm usually skepitcal at best when it comes to stats.  Sometimes, it's easier just to go with the majority (in their eyes mind you).

Depends which two years.

We don't know how quickly Asari breasts develop between the Maiden and Matron stages.

Also apparently the process can be triggered more rapidly if there is frequent mind-melding. Maybe Liara's been a bad girl :P

There was also Kaidan if you romanced him.

Two iron cups are not exactly practical....as someone with boobs, I can tell you would be pretty damned uncomfortable....Spread 'em and stuff them into hard cups would not work.

And as some people have already said, many of the attire don't match the woman's personality; with Jack I can understand. Her tattoos are part of her history and she doesn't give a fcuk what people thing and hell, she probably likes wearing very little clothes since she knows it would make some people-especially uptight politicians and bureaucrats, uncomfortable. For her, I can understand. That being said, no armour in space is stupid; I could understand her belts as Normandy clothes, but not in a firefight.

With Miranda and Ashley (ME3 in her case) their outfits don't fit their established personalities. Miranda is a professional, intelligent woman. Wearing clothes like that is not professional, the catsuit and heels, especially when she makes it clear the genetic meddling of her father bothers her and she is a no-nonsense woman who isn't overtly interested in romance or others opinions in her work.

With Ashley, she's a Soldier, one who is in the dirt, in fire fights and gets shot at in a regular basis. In ME1 she plainly states she prefers guns and thick armour. Making her wear that stupid 'armour' in ME3 with the nonsensical heels and garters, not to mention having her long hair flowing in the breeze, does not go with her personality.

Even Samara; she's a warrior monk yet her Black Widow daughter covers more skin than her. And the heels...ugh.

In short, I'm fine with clothes if it fits them and they wear sensible stuff in a firefight; simply walking in catsuits and boobs hanging out for no other reason than the sexy and goes against the established personality of said character is stupid.

If the armor is molded to fit someone's chest, the armor is molded to fit someone's chest. Breasts exist. Molding the armor to fit them sounds to me like a simple and obvious option.

I don't have breasts. I don't know. If not this, than how should inflexible armor for women be shaped?
