ou all should join m in my fantasy land where i travel back in time to when ME 1 was launched and convinced Valve to buy Bioware. ME 3 comes out this month but when it does, the gaming industry is rocked by what is unanimously the greatest game of all time. The story so strong, the ending plot twist so great, that playing ME 3 actually becomes a requirement in english literary courses.

How long would it have taken for someone to say "maybe this crucuble and catalyst thing is a bad idea."

Id say delay the game untill that happens.

I dont blame ea at all for me3s failings. They provided bioware with tons of new stuff. It wasnt ea forcing bioware to use the catalyst. It was the head producer at bioware. Its an easy enough assesment for me.

It's EA's fault though where's there much less side-quests than in previous games, much more autodialogue, war assets not showcased (we know they planned to do that from leaked beta) and not enough ME2 squadmates, undercooked Journal, unequal romances etc. These things are results of time constraints. Yes, the ending ending probably wouldn't have change much and there would still be outrage, but most of the games' other problems would either not exist or be much better.

So your under the impresion it was ea forcing bioware to concentrate on things like diana allers? Instead of things that without a doubt would make the game BETTER like the things you mentioned. I mean what exactly do u think biowares priorities were? Im under the impression ea made the game better while bioware made it worse.

ME3 wouldnt have

Diana Allers was a bad example, as the ONLY reason she was in the game was to cultivate ties with IGN, and hopefully get better press, better reviews, etc. EA might very well have forced Bioware to concentrate on her. EA was at least partially responsible for MP being jammed into the game (and in that sense, also responsible for the general lack of side missions, as the studio who made the MP happens to be the studio who created the side missions in ME2). EA's deadlines were the reason that From Ashes had to be snipped from the core game (and given EA's habits, it's even more likely that Bioware was ordered to find missions TO convert to DLC). Shall I continue?

i don't love EA, but they're doing things right with how successful they are. None of us here could properly run or manage a successful video game or media company.

Anything and everything is "rushed" now because of how people expect their goods now in our instant media age.

And yet defenders of EA/BIOWARE claim it is down to the minority who hate ME3 and it's travesty of a game/ending.........those minority entitled whiners really do have a voice it would seem if that were the case.......im sure FIFA/MADDEN fans love being signed out of the server and losing connection for no apparant reason.:bandit:

Let me get this straight. You are using a chart that shows a downward trend in EA's stock prices that started well before Me3's release, as evidence of ME3's failure? Did you even look at this  before you posted it?

I used that chart "as evidence of ME3's failure"? Where on earth did you get that from? I've read the post again and not even if you squint with one eye and stand on your hands while reading it can you interpret that post as some kind of "evidence of ME3's failure" from my side.

Though I have to agree on one thing. Bioware and ME3 or even DA2 should not be mixed up with EA's failure as a company. That is their own doing

Is anyone really shocked by this?

No.

We know Bioware can build good games, they have done so in the past. And it's not like ME3 is complete train wreck ( even though a lot of my previous posts would suggest that I have nothing but hate towards ME3 ), its an okay game, it's just impossible to play it without feeling like corners have been cut, a lot of features could have been implimented better, a lot of potential was wasted and that the game lacks polish in general.

If ME3 had another 6 months or even a year, it would of been a beauty.

Sure. More :wizard:
You saying that garbage intro, multiplayer shoehorned into singleplayer, Crucible, Cerberus Empire, and other crappy writing and bad design decisions just vanish in 6 months?
That's just wishful thinking. :police:

At the core of what Maxter is saying I have to agree (which I can't believe on some level :P).
The things in which people don't like wouldn't have changed just because BW had more time. I've seen lots and lots of posts on BSN that equate elements they don't enjoy with being 'rushed'. They really aren't mutually exclusive.

I think it was Ultima 9. The game was unfinished when released due to EA pushing it. It more or less killed the Ultima franchise.

Ultima 8 had weak sales as well. But I don't know if EA had anything to do with that.
