Why does Kaidan get a free pass for not trusting Shepard, but Ashley doesn't?

wanna know the REAL reason so many are annoyed by Ashley talking back to them but not Kaidan?

Because Ashley's a woman. "HOW DARE THAT **** NOT TRUST ME!"

I doubt it. The haters think Kaidan is a woman anyway, or might as well be.

Never had any trust issues with either VS. They have concerns, Shep addresses them, and everyone moves on.

Since Ashley survived Virmire in more game saves, it stands to reason that more people would complain about her.

Why does anybody blame Kaidan or Ashley for reacting the way any reasonable soldier would if their commander showed up working with a terrorist organization?

Pretty much.

My guess is that while Kaidan is also suspicious of you and voices it, he's not quite as aggressive as Ashley is. That and a lot of the hate is due to her mistrusting stacked on with her being accused of racism in ME1 and her hostility towards Liara. She probably wouldn't have had as much hate from fans if that didn't happen. Also, Kaidan's final words if you kill him during the Citadel coup and making zero effort to talk him down aren't nearly as dark as Ashley's if you go that route with them.

Either way, I berate both of them during the conversations on Mars about Cerberus. Had a lot of fun doing that too.

Kaidan = Carth

I killed Carth, therefore I killed Kaidan. With Kaidan being dead and all, he can't very well question my Shepard.

I would have left Ash to die aswell... those ****ing poems.

Because Kaidan basically got over it after you explained yourself on Mars. Ash needs to hear it at least 3 more times before she gets it through her damn skull

Ashley is fine for me. I can deal with mistrust, and I don't have to bring her on missions (I never did in ME3, actually).

Kaidan's voice is a lot less annoying.

Kaidan is more calm about (calm being a relative term since he too is obviously angry) than Ash who just flips out.

Kaiden was understandable in his distrust, where as Ash seemed to take it WAY too far.

I wish I could Leave Liara on Vermire, That would have been awesome.

Everyone killed Kaidan.
/thread.

Thread was over after the first post, guys.

I'd forgotten about that.

Rather fitting that Garrus is a sniper then.

And let's not forget how Steve Blum narrates the tutorial.

The difference is he's less in your face about it, it's also well written, alot of what he does makes sense, he wants to be friends again and really wants to get over Horizon and if he dies in the coup he does not tell Shepard to go to hell?

Plus Kaidan is well written, something ME3 Ash was not. Save Ash the pain, kill her on Virmire.

The same dialogue, similar vocal projection, but Ashley "flips out". Makes sense.

Kaiden isn't as loud about it, plus he's actually likeable.

Because Ashley was my woman, and Kaiden was my friend/comrade. I'd expect my lady to know me better than a bro.... and that is why, at least for me. Cuz in MY ME universe... no one suddenly went gay, yeah I said it lol.

In fact... Kaiden suddenly being open to homosexual encounters was stupid and pure fan catering. He had a WOMAN he was in love with years ago. Men don't suddenly realize they're gay at middle age.

Well in my first post, your second quote, I was on topic, that's why to me Ashley gets more of a pass. My second post was me musing because I'm a bored tired single father of two kids, waiting for my two year old to go to sleep so I can play Black Ops II. :-D

And OMG HK-47 is still the coolest robot ever lol, "How you function with that constant sloshing, I'll never understand, meatba.... er, sir."

While the differences in the dialogue are few, they serve to make Ash's attacks more person. In addition, the inflection isn't at all similar. Ash sounds significantly angrier about the whole thing.

For the vast majority of my Shepards... he doesn't get off Virmire.

But I don't let him off the hook for that either. The Virmire Survivor in ME2 and ME3 are both really annoying.
