When I run the launcher it goes directly in to the configuration.

Dragon Age: Origins will not run properly because the driver for your display adapter is too old. You must update your driver to correct this problem. Please see your hardware vendor's website for further information on obtaining the required drivers.

I CANT RUN MY DRAGON AGE ORIGIN ))))))):

HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

:?

Go to Nvidia's website and download a new driver. You have to tell it what model of video card you have and everything. I think there's also an option to let the website scan for you and pick a driver. Drivers are a software component that configure the video card on your system, not hardware.

Go here, pick the correct choices from the dropdown menus, download the file, run it, restart and enjoy.

Leave the uppermost dropdown as it is, pick GeForce 7 series below, then pick the OS you are using and click search. The site will present you a page with a green 'Download' button. Click it :)

Or you can use the 'Graphics drivers' button below the dropdowns to have the site automatically find the right drivers for you (works only on Vista and earlier versions of Windows).

Your video driver is the software that allows the operating system to communicate with your hardware. You need to go Here and get the latest driver for your video card. Select the proper specs of your system from the drop-down boxes. Please research how to install the new driver.

Unfortunately, I don't think your video card is up to snuff for this game though. It's very low end and not really meant for gaming. But updating your driver may help.

Shouldn't the installer have let him know if this was the case? On XP, he might be able to actually run the game, but i have concerns regarding the achievable speed and quality.

That's what I meant by it not being up to snuff. Sure, he may be able to actually fire up the game with that card, but I have serious doubts that it will be anything more than a slideshow.

A new video card may or may not be able to solve your problem. If your CPU and RAM are not (good) enough, not even the best video card would help you.

Assuming the CPU and memory are okay, i'd say you should pick a card which 'plays well' with your motherboard's chipset (Nvidia chipset --> Nvidia card, AMD chipset --> Ati card), though some may say this is not important.
Personally i'd go for Ati, Raden 4870 is quite good, and is also affordable. Again, others may disagree.

Only you know what your budget is. If you want a card that'll be decent for the next year or two, get one in the $100-200 (I don't know what the pricing is in Europe, if that's where you are). Generally speaking, the last three numbers tell you how powerful the card is. A 3750 is more powerful than a 4350, but a 4750 is better than a 3750, for instance. An 8800 is more powerful than a 9400, while a 9800 is better than an 8800. Again though, without knowing your budget, it's hard to recommend specific models. Also, you need to make sure that a new video card has the same connections as the old one.

Here, check out this group on the forum.

A few more details would help us try to figure out what's going on.

FYI: I don't see Dragon Age Origin as one of your registered games.

If it's a Steam prompt, it shouldn't stop you playing the game IIRC. What happens if you cancel out and immediately run again?

Also, if it is a Steam version, the DAO patch 1.05 is available, but you have to get it through Steam. Make sure that you have updates enabled for DAO in Steam. (Mine just updated a couple of weeks ago, so I know it is available to Steam now). You should be able to go to DAO in your Library in Steam, right-click it and choose update.
