Only if we are shown how she was miraculously returned to her dwarf form.

I mean, getting molten lyrium poured through every hole in your body must involve one hell of a reversal procedure.

Maybe getting molten lyrium poured out of every hole in your body will work?

Or maybe all they have to do is crack her open like an egg and they will find a hibernating dwarf stuffed in the center.

I honestly don't want to see shale in a dwarven body as her being a golem adds a great deal of dept to her character

Not really. Being a golem was a large part of her personality, and she wouldn't have that if she were a fleshy dwarf.

So what your saying is, character development bad.

I'm not saying that I don't want her to have no character development, on the contrary. But there are any ways for her to have that without changing her from a unique golem with free will to yet another dwarf

Don't put words in people's mouths, I like character development just fine. She already has a personality as a golem and there has been character development as that during DAO. I don't think she has to turn back into a dwarf as a prerequisite for more character development.

I'll add though, that if this does happen, I would like to see it. Take this comment by David Gaider at Pax East referencing Anders:

I liked what happened to Anders. I think if I was to go back and do anything differently -- developing by hindsight is always an option for us obviously... -- but if I had the opportunity to go back, I think what I would have liked to have done is started in Act 1 an Anders that was a little bit close, I mean he had this big change -- I'm sure everyone knows what it is, it's not a spoiler -- he had become one with Justice, because we wanted to bring two characters forward, not just one. So I think if I went back I would have started with an Anders that was a little bit closer to when he was in Awakening, so the player could be on the same sort of journey with him.

That is essentially what I would want with Shale and something as dramatic as returning to a dwarf.

It might be cool to see how she is coping. Things might not have turned out how she wanted or thought they might have. Maybe she's become deranged. She lives dirty and wild in the streets living only off the putrid carcases of all the pigeons she's managed to capture and eat... raw! Oh poor Shale! How did we let you get to this place?!?

I don't think she ever got that mortal body. If we see her I am pretty sure she is still made of stone.

SPOILER ALERT FOR ASUNDER

Still a golem when Wynne dies at the end of Asunder, so don't think she will be able to find a new body. But if they found a way to give Shale a new body, then the same should work for Justice.

I prefer Shale as a golem.

I would prefer her to stay as a golem. But if they showed her past in some sort of flashback that would be good.

Bleh dwarves, I would rather all of the dwarves in the series be forcefully converted into golems.

As of Asunder, she's still a golem, so I doubt it would happen.

I honestly don't want to see her ever change. Although I think there are legitimate things that can be explored with such a development, I'm not sure if it will really seem like Shale anymore, and I think that's too precious a thing to risk.

I do think it would happen eventually, but I also think it should be fatal (or carry some other consequence, like the complete loss of her memory and identity). But I can't deny not wanting it to happen anytime soon... we need more Shale!

I rather like her being a Golem. Since DA3 is after the events of Asunder, Shale is still a golem unless she found another mage to help her become squishy between those years.

I would love to see Shale back, squishy or otherwise. She was one of my favourite characters from DAO.

If she returns as a squishy meatbag, she would be piloting the biggest, baddest battlemech made of mysterious ancient Dwarven technology. Like this:

Otherwise it doesn't feel right.

Shale WANTED to become squishy again after meeting the Warden, I think if she comes back that's what's in store. And honestly, I don't mind. We need more female dwarves...as long as she remains asexual.

Maybe give her some sort of magic artifact that turns her into a shape shifter, but don't just limit her to golum and dwarf. There were mods for DAO that could make Morrigan's shapeshifting a lot more fun and useful - making the changes happen instantly rather than via a slow charge up spell was a huge help, for one.

Out of curiosity, how would she accomplish regaining a Dwarven vessel? Necromancy, perhaps?

Does it really matter whether she'd be a golem or a dwarf? Because all she'd be likely to do is awkwardly and forcibly make references to/repeat stuff from lines she had Origins anyway, another cameo for the mere sake of having a cameo.

*sings* You can't always get what you want...

Just because Shale wants something doesn't mean the devs are going to go ahead and give that to her, and ultimately, this thread asked what the player would want. Totally agree on the no Shale romance though.
