Going to Armali with Liara. Blue babies. All that jazz.

No more putting down bad guys and saving the galaxy for my Shepard.

London, so he could eventually become one of The Doctor's companions.

I've also heard some rumors that Anderson was born there.

i found my closer through an amazing fanfiction by cellotlix on fanfiction.net called "Reunion". it was almost exactly what i had headcannon'd for my aurora shepard and her kaidan. if only bioware had delivered that! *fangirl sob*

I'll elaborate since others are doing this is well.
Destroy with peace on Rannoch is my canon, so the Geth and all Synthetics with them will probably be dead, but their reputation will have changed thanks to their help in the war effort and of course their sacrifice. My Shepard will use this new way of thinking in order to lift the ban on synthetic research, but at the same time making sure that every self-aware AI is guaranteed equal rights. So basically, everyone who creates synthetic "servants" will be forced to set them free if they become self-aware or he will be a slaver by law.

I'll elaborate to, Shepard is through with the Alliance and the Council. He exposes everything they did to drag their heels, he only wants to be left alone by the galaxy. He is sick of being the hero, watching everybody die around him.

He will maintain relations with the Normandy crew and may even keep a residence on the presidium, but all he is doing is living out the end of his days in peace and quiet.

And Miranda, lots of her

On a more serious note, I really never gave much thought to Shepard's life post-ME3.

Surgeries and rehab aside, I guess he retires from the military and settles down on some colony world with Liara.

I don't see Earth or Thessia as being attractive options in the short term, as they were reduced to rubble piles and are likely to remain so for years. It is going to be decades before everything is cleared and rebuilt, and centuries before the planets return to their pre-war levels of prosperity.

Some of the colony worlds would have remained untouched however, or saw much less damage than the home worlds. So I guess my Shep would retire to one of those human or Asari colony worlds. If it is has to be one that is named in the series, I guess I'd go with Eden Prime. The Cerberus occupation isn't likely to have left a large footprint, the climate is tolerable, and there are plenty of Prothean ruins to occupy Liara's time. Image IPB

I only see one possible happy ending to Shepards story...

Image IPB
Throwing empy beer cans at people while shouting, "No, Shepard! you are the Reapers!
Lifting up small children by their shoulders, shaking them violently while crying out, "They ate his face! The Husks ate Garrus face!"
Rolling into women bathrooms at public locations screaming "I’m Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite store on the citadel"

I love happy endings.

Can I have two options?

Not retiring but taking well deserved shore leave with Kaidan on Vancouver? :)

Spectres need R&R too

I'd like to meet Garrus's father & sister, but I doubt they'd retire for at least 20+ years. Shepard & Garrus (her second-in-command) would probably continue their adventures; I'm sure with the sudden collapse of governmental control during the initial & subsequent attacks that several planets will be in civil turmoil following the destruction of the Reapers - Shepard would be assisting in restoring peace and aiding those who need it, as per usual.

Also, I'm SURE Cerberus has some holdout facilities scattered here and there that our friendly neighborhood Shadowbroker can help us sniff out.

1. Reunites with crew. High-fives Javik, bangs Tali, etc.
2. Goes to hospital and gets treated for his severe case of Autodialogue and Derp Moments Syndrome.
3. Helps rebuild the galaxy and stuff.
4. Starts a charity for needy vorcha orphans.
5. Builds house on Rannoch. It has its own water-slide, a bar, and several guest rooms for when his overly needy and dependent friends come and stay over for unannounced and lengthy visits.
6. Him, Tali, and more often than not, the rest of the Normandy gang alternate time between living in house, travelling around the galaxy kicking ass, and advertising Shepard's autobiography I Can't Believe This Much Crazy and Nonsensical S**t Has Happened in My LIfe.

Retired with Liara on Thessia with two daughters, and btw he will live around 500 years, why? because he's Commander John Shepard. :D

Is dead because I headcannon that when I arise from the rubble, I slipped and hit my head on Liara's shoulder, unpleasant way to go out after all he's been through.

True story.

Well, Destroy is not a happy ending IMO, so my Shepards in a "happy ending" are all dead.

However, if there had been a way to win the war without Shepard dying or an entire race being wiped out, I could see a case for a Paragon Shepard becoming the new human councilor. The paragon route in ME3 arguably makes Shepard even more valuable as a diplomat than as a soldier. Navigating the genophage cure, securing the allegiance of the turians, rescuing the rachni, negotiating peace between the geth and the quarians, even bringing the Leviathans on board - that's at least two centuries-old, blood-soaked grudges resolved, not to mention the likely paradigm shift in how AIs will be viewed due to EDI and the geth.

This will be life for many of the N7 veterans. With some punk liberal college kids spitting on them for "murdering the reapers".

The Reapers have plenty supporters and sympathizers on BSN. In most of the endings the Reapers are intact, win, or both.

I voted "Other". Shepard would retire to Intai'Sei for the duration of his recovery. Following that, Shepard and Miranda would found a new organization in the vein of Cerberus, but more similar to the CIA than the Sith Empire. Miranda would head the science division with Brynn. Shepard would head the ground forces with Randall Ezno and Jacob, while Petrovsky manages the fleets.
