The Catalyst has been retconned from a god-child AI to a non-intelligent machine part used by the Citadel to communicate with the Relay Network. The Catalyst is what allows energy and information to be transmitted from the Citadel to the Relays.

Where is the intelligence mentioned by the leviathan then? Or did you retcon that too so that he never mentioned it?

Also a retcon. The Leviathans directly created the Reapers from willing sacrifices among their own people. Hence, Harbinger.

So can you give us the whole leviathan/reaper reason as it goes in the Praetor canon? Did they still create them to guard life at any cost? Or was it some twisted experiment to ascend and become immortal? And Im still guessing the reapers turned on their creators.

Technically it's not that relevant either way since I do not intend to feature more of the Reaper conflict in Praetor. I'd personally go with my Regenesis idea:

Levi's enslave races.
Levi's build a galactic empire on the backs of their slaves.
The slave races gradually evolve a natural resistance to enthrallment.
The slaves revolt.
Levi's are driven close to extinction.
Levi's retreat to Dark Space.
Levi's split into two camps (Hide-H and Reclaim-R).
R!Levi's build Reapers to harvest and catalogue rebellious species and killing "traitor" H!Levi's.
Reapers initiate first cycle.
R!Levi's are discovered and killed by first cycle heroes.
Reapers kill first cycle heroes.
Reapers are left to repeat the cycle over and over again.
H!Levi's are afraid to come out and avoid the Reapers like a plague.
A really long time passes.
Shepard destroys the Reapers.
Present day.

So, there are still some Levi's waiting in the deep?

I hope they're friendly.

Sounds great!

But I don't seem to really get it.

What is this project exactly about? Is it an interactive story?
Do you plan on making a game by yourself? O.o

I am really sorry, but I don't really get it ^^

A short answer would be quite welcome :)

Sorry, missed that post at the end of the last page!

The project is basically a game concept. A blueprint, if you will. I don't have the time, resources or know-how to make an actual game out of it (though if I had, I would!).

The end result, as I've planned it, is like a Game Guide-esque PDF or something along those lines. Hopefully with snazzy concept art and stuff. Though that's still in Dreamland.

Oh okay. Great idea, great concept.

But a very ambitious goal...

Maybe you write a "short" book?
I would definitely read or buy it.

Or a text adventure in the ME Universe?
That would be awesome too :)

I obviously can't charge for it (the EA lawyers would have me in a courtroom before I could say Lawsuit), but anything is possible!

Of course you can't do it on your own. But if you contribute it to EA/Bioware they may release it or give you the permission ;)

So basically reapers were doomsday weapons or warmachines left on to perpetuate after the destruction of their creators? Sounds like that one Trek episode. Why did the leviathans want to harvest other species and programmed the reapers to do it? Did the reapers start to self evolve or something and make their own decisions?

The Levi's needed to "recreate" the rebellious thrall species without their evolved resistance to enthrallment. But their numbers were so low that they couldn't do it themselves. Hence the Reapers.

500-700 years, I'd say. The Yahg Emperor is at least 400 and Kechlu claims to be even older.

Speaking of age - medical advances over the centuries after the Reaper War has led to an increase in most species lifespans. In the case of salarians and vorcha, their lifespans have more than doubled.

Boosterspice, hehe.

I bet salarians came up with them. It always kinda irked me that so many new inventions were brought up by humans in the original series, yet they claim salarians are the scientist race of the universe. Well there was the collector immunity thing and the genophage cure, but other than that what other did they really contribute? Bioware didnt even add any salarian scientists to the crucible project, not ones that were war assets anyway, except Mordin. Its like they just forgot... incredible...

Are the lystheni developing bioweapons for the yahg? It would make a good sideplot, a horror themed one like Resident Evil. Especially since the rhaelans arent in the story anymore. I developed them as this unknown threat that snatched living beings and then vanished.

What would Lysenthi Salarians look like?

I always imagined them with horns and nature's "danger colors" everywhere on them.

They look like salarians but a somewhat meaner and they have fangs. Jaroth(eclipse leader in Archangel mission) and Tazzik were lystheni.

Really?

It says nothing regarding that on the wiki page for the Lystheni.

Its praetor canon, until Bioware gives us a more defined look at the Lystheni. Unless they forgot them, like those minor terminus races... But we do not forget.

Are the spectres still around btw? I know they were terminated in the proxy storyline but it has changed.

I haven't decided anything for lystheni yet, but I don't intend for them to look too different from normal salarians.
