People say there's a dexterity bug on consoles that also affects longbows and shortbows... I've read that the bug is
a) 1 point in strenth = 1 point of damage for bows, and 1 point of dex = 0.5 points of damage for bows, and dexterity doesn't add damage to daggers.
But what is the REAL bug?
As I've tester numerous times, and found that every point of dexterity I add, and every point of strength I add, for longbows and shortbows, does 0.3 points of damage.
So what's the bug, and what's the stats really intended to do?
So, consoles, archer rogues, dex bug?

Everyone keeps saying its half of str and half of dex for longbows damage, but on consoles with the dex bug its 100% from strength, but like I said every point of str I add, it increases by 0.3 damage, just like increasing dex is increasing damage by 0.3 percent, so did consoles get a hidden fix that we don't know about?

The bug is the same as pc's dex should be increasing damage by 0.5 not 0.3, plus crossbows aren't working at all and neither are daggers. T

Well every time I add or decrease dexterity, it's adding 0.3 damage not 0.5 to the base damage. Same with str.

I'm also wondering about this... anyone?
Maybe the bow damage has to do with the multiplier of the item?
Is the dex dagger bug still present?

Dex and str still adding 0.3 damage each. On consoles. Generic longbow used for testing, str modifier = 1 on it.

So what ? it's working as intended. Dex and strength contribute equally to your damage. The value listed in your character sheet is your average DPS, not your base damage.

That's what were trying to figure out though, as every single archer rogue build claims str is adding 100% of your damage, where as dex is 50%, but they're both going equally 0.3 for each stat, and others are also saying its 0.5 per stat, where does the -0.2 per point come from?

Yeah what you can do, is save when you level up, then put in the 3 points in dex, and you'll see the damage goes up by 0.9, on consoles, same with str, or cunning with lethality.
It should be 0.5 as all the wiki's say, even bioware, but it's broken on consoles.
And it's a huge decrease in damage, adding 20 points of dex would be 6 points of damage on console, but had the dex been fixed and giving 0.5, then it would be 10 points of damage, a loss of 4 potential points of damage every 20 points.
So say your archer has 40 points in dex, 60 in cunning with lethality, that's a grand total of 80 points, at 0.3 damage per point, you're at 24 extra points of damage, but had the calculations be correct for dex and str, at 0.5 points of damage per point, you'd have 40 extra points of damage, almost double of your potential damage output on consoles. So in reality you're archer is losing half its damage on consoles.
This needs to be addressed and fixed asap.
and another thing to add, rogues who wield daggers, are not getting any points of damage from dexterity, I just tried that as well. Which makes high str, or high cunning builds better. But you're still losing 12 or so points of damage as you have to invest points in dex to wield the best daggers.

I fear as though this will never be resolved.

You can really see how this bug effects the console when it come to short bows and crossbows. Shortbows are suppose to get 100% of their damage from dex and crossbows do not work at all a pure dex or strength build will on get the best crossbow in the game to 30.0 dps which is weak. Archery builds are suppose to be the strongest dps in the game. Example I have two builds one is a cun archery build and the other is a dw cun build, the dw is doing on avg 110 dps where the cun archery build is doing 65 dps this is on my XBOX360. Now With the same build on my computer the dps for a dw 125 dps where the archer is doing 175 dps with the fix.

Well though it may be flawed, at least we can confirm its 0.3 per point of Dex, Str or Cun.
