Difference : Traynor did it quickly with no help.
Liara took quite a bit of time and there was a massive research staff helping her, Literally dozens if not hundreds of scientists.

Not terribly when it comes to knowing where to look. Breaking codes, yes. And that's ignoring the fact that Liara also had access to vast supercomputers at the archives, as well.

I can't argue with that logic. And to be honest, I like liara a lot more before ME3. Her character just got worfed to no end in ME3.
