Indeed. I think Liara, Anderson, TIM, and Ashley were the characters most worfed in ME3. Hmm, those were also all pretty heavily plot related...

The only reason I mentioned Ash is because She lives in my playthrough. I found her much more interesting than Kaidan in number one, and was more useful to me on the field. After ME3 though, next ME1 playthrough she's eatin' a nuke.

As for who I hate?

Personally I hate Liara as she is how Bioware makes her PERFECT. Even Miranda who IS MEANT to be perfect isn't in all accounts and still has her flaws which still makes here a good character.

I'm curious: before Mass Effect 2, were there discussions on here about the preferred romance paths in ME1? Or did this surge get "started" with the new romance options?

ME1 had an older forum, if I remember correctly and I don't really remember that type of section, though I wasn't active on during that time.

You can tell when a character is well written when he is not a looker (I love him but he isn't good looking) but because of his writing he is considered on of the best LIs by most and one of the best characters according to most as well. Also I am a heterosexual man but I love garrus that is how cool he is

What's the difference between 'fans' and 'dedicated fans', how do you decide which is which? If by dedicated you mean someone willing to spam the boards, twitter accounts, etc, day after day until they get there way then it would be the Liara and Tali fans of course.

According to the biggest ME3 surveys, Liara and Garrus are by far the most used squadmates in ME3. So I suppose they have the most fans.

Most dedicated? Miranda, I guess (at least on BSN)

I actually disagree with you that he's not a looker.  Garrus is very handsome.  Simply because he isn't human doesn't make him ugly.  I find the turian species quiet asthetically pleasing.  I know some people don't understand that.  They have a feral, regal quality to them.  It's hard for me to put into words so maybe someone else can explain better .

I don't. I liked him in ME1, he was tiring to me in ME2, I don't like him in ME3. He's overexposed and has nothing new to say, his plot & character developement basically ended in ME1 (esp in Renegade version) and his only role in ME3 is being bro and recycling the calibration meme over and over again
