I just reinstalled Mass Effect and the sequels on windows 8. Now in the first ME you are given the option to use 1440x900 graphics but that is only in the configuration program...... Once the game runs it seems to slip back into another mode, 1024x768.....
Why is the higher mode there if the game doesn't support it?
Question on ME Graphics.....

There are less resolution options from inside the game itself, but all the available options from the config program should work. Make sure you save the settings when you change the resolution, then when you launch the game check your monitor, not the game and see what resolution its running in.

Oh yeah I see now it is in native resolution.... 1440x900 so no change.... I just wondered why they had two sets of options .... It made things initially confusing till I realised there was no change.
