The funny part is that if he knew you were a girl, then he was quite possibly trying to be cool by trying to keep you alive.

How did he know you were a girl? Kinda presumptuous on that being the reason why.

There's the off chance that they didn't know they were glitching you and were trying to be helpful, you could've ask them to stop before just ragequitting, but I'm in agreement it was probably griefing and you can get banned for that.

I honestly don't understand males threatened by females.

Girl that can outscore me? Hot.

I ran away from the enemies to see if he would follow, which he did. There was nothing for me to charge to get away from him.

I guess it never made sense to me that players would spam the power rather than waiting to hear their teammate saying "shields down", considering the high cooldown times of the other powers the UR Volus have.

Indeed. I usually pay attention to "lost shields!" cries when playing volus and on later waves, when fight gets more and more intense, I am mostly unable to catch it, either because it´s not cried every time or it gets lost in all other sounds and chaos on field.
Also, volus is really limited in terms of offensive powers, especially adept and sentinel, engineer has the mines.  Aside from few players who can squeeze amazing score even from volus, shield boost is the next best thing they have. Knowing they can´t kill fast or effectively enough, many players opt to use primarily shield boost to contribute.

Doesn't bother me if someone wants to follow me to give me free shields while I mow everything down. If my powers get locked I heavy melee right away then back to killing. In fact, the few times I have had someone do it I thanked them for the shields and a couple of them said they did it because they recognized I was the best player in that lobby and wanted to help keep me alive.

I probably should have mentioned I ran to the other side of the map where there were no enemies or bullets flying around. He was right behind me the entire first wave, this was done on purpose.

I almost took you seriously until you assume its a guy and make this into a gender war.  Hence the presumptions part aforementioned.

As men, it is very important to our species that we surpass womenz in every way possible, and showing them that we are better then them at video games is one of our many duties. If a woman outscores us, a meeting is called to gather men everywhere and we decide if that man should be killed for being outscored by a gurl, or if that gurl is a cheater. And obviously because as the code dictates, ""Bros before Hoes", it is always the gurls fault for cheating.


So, That Volus had every right to glitch you out, because you were obviously cheating if you were able to outscore them.

This is the reason there are so few gamer girls out there. This is the reason you can't find a girlfriend who likes to play and understands why you like to play. This is a poor attitude that needs to go away. One of the most powerful players on my friends list is a female. She is ranked #138 on the N7 leaderboard and has showen me a thing or two about the game and I am glad to have her on my friends list. Get over your insecurities guys.

Yet you had to bring up the fact that you are female to begin with. So if the Volus followed a male gamer around doing this they should just assume the Volus is a bitter female gamer that can't stand being outscored by a male, correct?

Just saying, if you don't want it to turn into that why bother bringing up your gender at all? Next time just make your complaint about the bug and leave it at that, nothing else really needed to be said.

Agreed. I feel that the Volus engineer is better equipped for crowd control. Slap a Scorpion on him and he can stop hordes of shock troops in their tracks. When I play as him, I fulfill the role of both demolitions expert and medic. Because I need to constantly debuff and explode everything, I'll limit shield boost's use to when it's most needed: After reviving players and while taking heavy fire.

lol. I love catching my friends in there. Another one of my favorite troll moves is to snipe a possessed abomination after it has grappled a teammate. Wouldn't do it to PuG's though.
