Heavy melee doesn't always fix the problem, the other night had the bug hit me.  I was not being griefed, the bug did not go away until the next wave, despite multiple heavy melee attempts.  To your initial point OP, I hope BioWare fixes this bug soon, but I really doubt we will be getting another patch for a while.

Side note, I've never had anyone "grief" me with shield boost, though I have had a Volus follow me around several times, boosting me, pretty much making my Fury, Broguard or whatever was mixing it up with the masses, nearly invincible and he kept boosting me when no baddies were in sight.  Never really considered it a bad thing.  If whoever was griefing you was worried about your score, following you and shield boosting was a dumb way to do it.  If he's shield boosting you, he's not focused on making baddies die.  Sounds like he was more dumb than mean.

I probably should have mentioned I ran to the other side of the map where there were no enemies or bullets flying around. He was right behind me the entire first wave, this was done on purpose.

Yet you had to bring up the fact that you are female to begin with. So if the Volus followed a male gamer around doing this they should just assume the Volus is a bitter female gamer that can't stand being outscored by a male, correct?

Just saying, if you don't want it to turn into that why bother bringing up your gender at all? Next time just make your complaint about the bug and leave it at that, nothing else really needed to be said.

And the lockout kinda sucks when it happens, but luckily it can be resolved in 2 seconds by holding down your melee button. I do hope they fix it in the next patch.

The only time this glitch has ever been brutally fatal to me are when I was also a Volus and couldn't heavy melee out of it. Personally, I'm fine with the glitch, because it provides a good way to grief players who clearly outscore me with dirty tricks like shooting the enemy in the head or being better than me.

I say Bioware should also introduce an easier system for t-bagging downed teammates. I mean, last night, I CLEARLY threw an arc grenade at a possessed abomination as it approached my teammates, and it exploded immediately, killing two of them. I revived them and blamed it on the DoT, but when I got Scion'd a few seconds later and they wanted to troll me, they had to actually put EFFORT into it by chaining moments of revive/don't revive.

Also, I want there to be a button that will get my character to hum the trololololol song. As is, I have to actually get on my damned mic. Maybe give me some smoke grenades to obscure the vision of my teammates, too. That'd be nice.

Half? Literally one sentence in there is about gender. It's the only point where it's mentioned. It could be removed from the OP and the point would be the exact ****ing same. I can't imagine people bothering to respond to that particular portion unless they're misogynistic dicks, because there's really no reason to make an issue of it unless you have a problem with gamer girls.

It probably shouldn't have been mentioned in the OP, but so what? Why choose THAT to respond to? What about that specific, tiny line out of a post with several paragraphs makes people flock to it and say "I R OFFENDUD THAT U MENTIONED BEINGG A GURL!!" It's ****ing stupid.

As men, it is very important to our species that we surpass womenz in every way possible, and showing them that we are better then them at video games is one of our many duties. If a woman outscores us, a meeting is called to gather men everywhere and we decide if that man should be killed for being outscored by a gurl, or if that gurl is a cheater. And obviously because as the code dictates, ""Bros before Hoes", it is always the gurls fault for cheating.


So, That Volus had every right to glitch you out, because you were obviously cheating if you were able to outscore them.

I didn't realize it at the time and I'm being told by some it doesn't always work. Heh one little joke question and this thread blows up.

I've had my powers and gun locked by some idiot running around with a Volus Shield Boosting more times than I care to count. However, I've had it to where I couldn't hold A to sprint or tap it to dodge and the melee button was locked along with my gun and powers, and I was forced to take a death to get everything working again.

Playing Collectors/Gold/Dagger as AV. It was a decent run. We did pretty well, partial extraction. One guy one-hit by praetorion. Other than that we revived each other and I personally made sure objectives got done.

Next match I stay in the lobby because it was a decent team. The host switches to volus, I think nothing of it. Match begins I run around for a second. The guy shield boosted me, I thought nothing of it because I did dodge to the side a little.  Enemies spawn, I run to them stasis some mooks and toss some grenades get some kills. That's when the guy runs behind me and starts repeatedly shield boosting me. I'm thinking WTF? Then I realized what he was doing. I run around and they guy follows right behind me still shield boosting. Now I know he's doing it on purpose. (I ran to other side of them map, he continued even when there were no enemies around shooting me).

I'm normally a laid back, chill type of person (you can ask any of my friends) but this really, I mean really pissed me off to the point I put my mic in and said:

"Hey guy playing the volus, you shield boosted me to the point I can't use my f*cking powers or weapons, thanks a f*cking lot."

I immediately left the game.

Bioware you need to fix this ASAP. Its a waste of equipment, time and effort. I love this game and want to continue playing with out worrying about some ****** trying to ruin it. <_<

(This thread will be bumped, I have a feeling the guy may be on the forums and I want him to know he was reported to both Microsoft and BioWare.)

and nope i've never been shield boosted that bad, but he might have been dumb and thinking he was helping. you never know, anyway thats what you get for playing with randoms lol

we found out during an all volus game that the volus can't get out of it with a melee sometimes and the only way to fix it is to die lol.

Ok I have got to ask are you trolling? Everybody know that when you can't use your powers or weapons you heavy melee. I have had Volus spam shield boost on me the whole game and it never locked up. The lock up is a random glitch that can happen to anybody mainly adept Fury and Slayer also if u jump around cover a lot. Also you rage quit so you wasted your own gear, time, and credits. Also how would he have known you were a girl if your mic was off?

I responded to other reasons as well, but the whole argument was that she was being griefed by it and a possible reason for that was her being a female. I have played with the OP and don't have a personal issue with her whatsoever, but that doesn't change the fact that she mentioned it as well as claiming she was griefed with no real evidence to back it up.

That fact that you feel the need to defend her when none of her claim was exactly valid speaks to me more than anything. Again, I won't disagree that the bug is annoying, but it takes next to no time to fix so why make some huge deal out of it? One more thing, if you think I have some issue with female gamers you are very wrong. Two of the people I play with the most on Xbox are female, but they don't go throwing their gender around for any reason the way the OP has in numerous post of hers.

Guys can be dicks. The risk we run by participating in geek culture is that we will run into several males that are going to freak out one way or the other when they see they're playing with a girl. I. On the main topic though...weird glitch. One I didn't know about. Seems to render the volus useless or near-to-useless in a support role. I prefer spamming mines anyway though. All those explosions... ^.^
