Reusing same character feature?

ME has an option to reuse same Shepard within game since ME1. Neither DAO or DA2 had it. So, to replay with my custom Hawke I had to use save editor, export headmorph from previous game and then import back into new one at first possible save point. That's not much of a trouble, when you know what to do, sure. But I wonder - why not give us built-in import feature? It seems appropriate. And I'm not talking about keeping some gear, level, skills or money here (which is also theorethically possible) - just custom face model.
I know that sometimes even minor option may cost a lot of coding hours. But if its' not the case - I'd love to see this feature in DA3. Thoughts?

Although I suppose the story of triplets separated at birth and each becoming heroes in their own right would be amusing in itself.
That being said, I'd say only keep face imports for games that actually have a common protagonist.

It's a feature I personally appreciate, but not one I'd count on since the DA series hasn't gone there before.

I think New Game+ is a fun feature, especially since I have a tendency to obsess over every little quest and missed loot. I don't see it much outside of JRPGs though, but even with the added features of face and class data it would be fairly trivial to code in. I don't see why they shouldn't.

I don't see keeping or boosting levels and skills as a must-have part of NG+ (as yes, that's what I was talking about, restarting with same character into same game). ME1 with its starting on 60 is not best thing to happen, really - you're way too cool from the very start... We could have some minor money or gear boost, or have some unlocks etc. Also you may or may not be able to change class and make minor CC changes. But I'd love to hear that I won't need to bother with save editors to replay the game this time.If you're talking about NG+, it's a feature I always appreciate, but it does require resources from what I understand. All the battles have to be scaled for both your initial level and the level you'd be importing with the same character. You'd also have to make sure your level cap is high enough to support leveling of imported characters.
I know that "DA2 did not have it", but there are quite a lot of things that DA2 did not have - and that's hardly a reason for not making them. 8) As for DAO - lack of this feature seems more or less fitting, as it was supposed to be played with different races and origins. It had no "set" main hero, while Hawke will always be Hawke, even if you try different classes.

Imo, the less extra manipulations (screenshots, editors) player needs to play game the way he likes - the better. When I wanted to reuse a face I took screenshots of the slider positions using the Mirror

Of course if DA3 gets an expansion similar in scope to DA:O's expansion Awakening, it'll sort of amount to the same thing as my two game proposal.

Also, NG+ please. I hate unlocking abilities right at the end of the game but never getting much chance to use them.

You did not understand me, I'm afraid. I was not talking about same character for multiple games, I was asking only for feature allowing you to replay same character within same game, if you wish so. There's nothing illegal about prefering one character instead of making army of different Hawkes after all...I'd like to see a pair of games in the DA series featuring the same protagonist.

Yay I'm not the only person who does this! /hugNrieh wrote...
I know some people love variety, but some (like me) become attached to one character. We spend a lot of time creating character's face, pick name carefuly, some use mods, some build headcanons and backgrounds for this very character, and most replays look close (if not entirely same), including romance and choices.
The only problem with this is that with the DA2 CC there are no "notches" on the slider, and you can't use side arrows to move, as in DAO. At least in DAO I can go "lip color is 5 from right," "nose bridge is center +2," and things like that. With DA2 you cannot have a character that is 100% exactly the same because of those limitations. It was very frustrating. While yes, your DA2 slider position might be very close to the previous position, 1 or 2 pixels off makes it not exact.Wulfram wrote...

That's why save editor with export-import your headmorph is the only proper way to do so. I tried CC in DA2 on my second run, but gave up very soon. The only possible issue here - you need to remember your initial preset, because siblings and mother will be rolled right after you accept CC face, and they will have faces matching your "draft" Hawke. With DA2 you cannot have a character that is 100% exactly the same because of those limitations.

Face codes would be great, yes! Means people can reuse faces they liked on replays and if you like the face somebody else designed, you can copy it pretty easily from a single screenshot or a small piece of text.Wulfram wrote...
I can't see that including a "face code" type thing like in ME2 and 3 would be all that difficult. Wouldn't work if you added mods, but all it is is expressing slider positions in a copy/pasteable form.
