Sure why not? I don’t need to be attracted to an npc my character romances in a video game. Maybe its different for other people if they view their character as them?

I think it depends... Just plain ugly, as in with wards and only one tooth and an additional eye... no. But I would be intersted in seeing a potential love interest with a prominent scar. Comparable to Zaeed, perhaps.

Gorim wasn't attractive and I'd love him to be a full fledged romance character. And I chose to sleep with Cammen more than once. If they gave awesome personality, background and voice to a character that looked like ****, I might consider him/her.

lol that made me laugh and it's sad to say but that's how the system of life works now a days.
Men or woman will look for the guy or girl who is the hottest and only want one thing from them. Then they go and settle down with someone who doesn't really appeal as much to their eyes just because they have a good personality and know they will be loyal and such. This really does make me sad to know.

There's "Randomized Character Creator Ugly" and then there's "Outside Society's Norms For Conventional Beauty Ugly." If done well, and not uncanny valley creepy, the unconventional looking character could be appealing, depending on how they are written.
And honestly, no video game character is really that physically attractive to me, anymore than a character in a book or comic would be. So it's not that big a deal to me.

Depends on the personality honestly. I have romanced Merril many times in playthrough just because of her personality. I honestly don't think she is that attractive physically. I mean shes not hideous, but isn't a Morrigan or Leliana. Also, many people seem to swoon over Fenris or Anders, but I can't bring a character of mine to romance them because they are basically self-interested jerks.
