Hate to break this to you, but some people DO consider Alistair to be a whiny, lying, twit and are all too happy to order him to his death. This doesn't apply to me, but there you go. Every follower has his or her detractors.

Yes I would. I romanced Garrus in ME and he is not physically appealing to me. His personality is what drew me in. In DA:O I wanted to romance Sten and Loghain the most - again, personality not looks. In DA:2 I longed for Aveline and most people (esp guys) consider her fugly. She was utterly adorable to me though.

I usually cut out the fat since I'm on a diet. They taste better when you saute them with some BBQ sauce.

I usually cut out the fat since I'm on a diet. They taste better when you saute them with some BBQ sauce.

Fenris is not really my cup of tea look wise but when he starts to speak he really makes an impact. I have to admit out of all the companions in DA2, Varric would have been the one for me!

Off topic: you know what always confused me? I've seen people more than once say that they HATE Kaidan because he whines too much...unlike Alistair.

I know people interpret characters differently but this is just weird to me. I didn't think Kaidan whined that much even compared to the other ME characters. Alistair on the other hand does whine a fair bit, he just makes up for it with humour.

It really depends. If we're talking Quasimodo levels of ugly then probably not, but LI's tend to be so generically 'attractive' that I get the impression even an average appearance would be considered "ugly" by many.

I wouldn't mind average looking or slightly less attractive than average appearance though. I mean Aveline for example wasn't the most attractive character ever (though by no means ugly) and I would have romanced her if she was an option.

The whole Garrus thing is interesting. I wouldn't call incredibly alien looking LI's like him "ugly" per se. Obviously he wasn't incredibly attractive by normal human standards, but I wouldn't say alien looking necessarily means unattractive (Except in the case of DA2 elves but that's another matter entirely). And a strong and likable personality can make a person attractive, both in real life and in games.
