Last Night I tried to fire up Dragon Age from Steam, but the game
wouldn't launch.  Message said,"Game currently unavailable.  Try again
later"  First time I've encountered this with Steam in two years.  So I
check the game cache and it come back files are 100% intact,  I try the
de-frag options and I get an error that files are too fragmented
suggest I run the windows defrag to correct.  I run defrag on both
drives since I haven't defrag in awhile.   Defrag finishes and I try to
launch the game again.  No go same error. I delete and rename the clientregistry.blob per the Steam Knowldge base.  Nope  still not working.   I delete the local content
and try to re-download and the game won't download. Huh  Posted Image

So
I fire up the laptop and steam to see if I can download to my laptop.
It's downloading fine. Ok, so now I am stumped. Dragon Age has been
deleted from my gaming rig, but I can't re-downlaod.  My other steam
games work fine as I checked all 22+

Anyone have any ideas?

I could be wrong, but I think your question would be better asked over in the Steam forums: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/

I get that too sometimes in other games particularly Dawn of War II, the servers are overloaded or something just keep trying again after a minute or so. Also you could try offline mode, might or might not help, I dunno.

What is Offline Mode?

Offline Mode allows you to play games through Steam without reconnecting to the Steam Network every time you wish to play - this is particularly useful if you do not plan on playing over the internet and would prefer not to download new updates for your single-player games.

Please note that you must connect to the Steam Network and test each of the games you would like to use in Offline Mode at least once to set up your account and configure Offline Mode on your machine.

Using Offline Mode

Please follow the instructions below to configure Offline Mode on your machine:

1. Start Steam online - make sure the Remember my password box on the login window is checked

2. Verify that all game files are completely updated - you can see the update status for a game under the My Games tab (when the game shows as 100% - Ready it is ready to be played in Offline Mode)

3. Launch the game you would like to play offline to verify that there are no further updates to download - shut down the game and return to Steam once you have confirmed that the game can be played

4. Go to Settings to ensure the Do not store account information on this computer option is not selected

5. From the main Steam window, go to File and select Go Offline

6. Click OK to restart Steam in Offline Mode

The only way I could fix this after being stonewalled by steam for two weeks and at loss for solutions. I had to format my computer! By the way, don't bother asking steam for anything for they will only tell you it's the developers fault and vice versa! edit - (Installing an .exe crack also works)
