This particular detail makes a difference. A HUGE difference.
Anyway, I liked Liara. She was a bit too idealized compared to the other characters, but I think she got more depth with ME2 - gaining a few renegade points, so to speak.

That makes me wonder. Do you ever see Liz Sroka at these things? Can't say I've ever seen her at them, but I don't really watch much of them in general.DeinonSlayer wrote...

And I get to get the job done and go home with Ashley.
It just illustrates something Bioware has forgotten: Not all playthroughs have to end the same way. Even in war stroies, some heroes get to go home again.

Well that`s pretty extreme, but me neither didnt like shepard comforting liara right after thessia. Dialog was a bit corny and stuff... You could`ve just told that javik is right, everyone has lost as much/more and now please shut up and get up.dorktainian wrote...

Allright, so she's competent. And it's not like it's essential to the.... no wait... Turns out that prothean obelisks, raping Shepard's eternity, beacons, dig-sites, archives and super-weapons are extremely important to the plot in the whole series.
Making her shadow broker as well was a stupid move. Where you could have made the character balanced, with competence in one field, lacking knowledge/experience in others, they just made her the galaxy's finest information broker, spy and more too.
That's at least one "The best in the galaxy" too many. Other characters inevitably become dull around miss perfect, say Miranda, designed to be pretty and gifted by genetics and tutoring... no galaxy's best. Garrus? A skilled renegade cop, and guerilla squad leader. The best in the galaxy? Nope. Wrex? A big, tough Krogan leader. The biggest and toughest in the galaxy? Probably not... The list goes on.

Wrex went from mercenary to king of the Krogan people in two years. Tali becomes an admiral. Thane is described as the best assassin in the galaxy. Grunt is the perfect krogan. Do you really want to complain about Liara?

archeologists - now also known as engineers.
liara digs out "potshed" of ancient civilisations - she is not an engineer. she may be able totranslate prothean texts and bluepronts - but it is very, very u8nlikely, that she will see the difference between a blue print for a weapon or one for a dish washer.

I do, actually. Tali obviously is just made an "admiral" not a proper admiral, or she'd have started to act like one. They should have stuck with something like Garrus' promotion if they wanted to keep her character believable.Barquiel wrote...

Wrex on the other hand, has been a small time Krogan leader before ME1, if you talk to him on the Normandy, and seems pretty capable of shooting and headbutting his way back to power in the mess they call the Krogan society.
Thane is the "best in the galaxy", aye, but he is deathly ill to, making his character a bit more rounded, in a way. The fact that he loses the one fight you see him in in ME3, makes him overall more beliveable and likable.
But then again, I ain't no Liaramancer, and have disliked her ever since she started to hit on Shepard shamelessly in game 1 (That's what it came off as to me at least).
edit: As for Grunt (forgot him), he's at least not in your face about it, and you can kill him off if you feel like it. I'd rather have had any other average Krogan tbh.
