In Tali's defense, you never saw her face until the very end.  

But come on - in Liara's case, you have a hot alien chick who will look young for Shepard's entire life and can reproduce with literally anything, male or female.  Not to mention her entire race is female, and even their elder matriarchs look attractive (hello, cleavage shots of Samara and Benezia!)  That doesn't scream "nerd fantasy!!" to you?

Feros->X57->Therum->Virmire->Noveria->Ilos in my first run through. Liara "propositioned" Shepard the second time I ever spoke to her. I've never even considered romancing her after that.

Good god no I have a feeling it is stuff that will give you nightmares lol. That said I bet James wanted too hence why him and joker asked liara if an asari can move their "hair tentacles" leave that image in your head
