I'm puzzled to see ME3 won anything to begin with.

Absolutely thrilled to see TWD getting the recognition it deserves, however.

Honestly it goes to show just how much gamers and games have de-evolved.  I remember when games use to be innovative, and fresh.  Nowwa days it seems they just stick to vanilla, no risk ideas.  And the drones in here cant seem to get enough of these re-used boring ideas.  I've never felt more ashamed to be a gamer than i do now.

I remember when my PC had a black-and-green screen, so I'm pretty sure I know what games you're talking about. Doesn't change the fact that TWD was an excellent experience.

I don't really care about the VGAs all that much, but it was nice to see that The Walking Dead got a well-deserved win. It was also nice that ME3 won the RPG award - mainly because I've so far been amused to see that people who can't move on with their lives are still raging about the game.

It is irrelevant that most of crowd prefers lowest common denominator for a game. Why you are ashamed by having some standarts for entertainment - it should be directly opposite.
Also - join the dark side - crowdfunded games. :wizard: You know that current system have no future you want to be part of.

Well, ME3 is better than Dragon's Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur and... what other RPGs were released this year >.>?

Borderlands 2 was technically part RPG. Actually if you count the witcher 2 as new for being released on 360 this year it had some amazing competition lol

Diablo 3 even being nominated was a shame. It only made the list because of Blizzard fame.

Why should they? AtreiyaN7 will be rational... others, not so much . There's no reason to think the boards can't go on like that forever.

I dunno, man. I heard it won a game-of-the-year award or something.

Glad ME3 won. I myself still love the game. The extended ending made it better and the gameplay was the best in the series.

I'm pleased to see that it annoys someone that I don't know and whose opinion I don't even remotely care about - kind of like those people who can't move on with their lives...yes, I think I just mentioned them. If only one of your posts were memorable enough for me to actually be interested in anything you have to say and/or your opinion of me - oh well!

The last time I cared about civility and/or an even-handed discussion with any endings hater was probably months ago before the endless whining moved me to join the dark side! I learned to embrace NOT caring about getting along with them and/or cosseting them.

Also, the dark side provides delicious cookies which was just a bonus.

I think the writing and storytelling are very good overall when you look at the game as a whole package, with excellent voice-acting (particularly David Fennoy as Lee) and characters that are very much like real people. That being said, some of the episodes can be uneven and occasionally the delivery of certain lines can seem a little schizophrenic in terms of tone in certain scenes; it' probably due to them having to ccommodate various responses.

Control-wise it's a little clunky, and there are a few camera issues early on, but if your main interest is in a compelling story and characters that you can really form emotional attachments to, I think that overrides any flaws. Honestly, if you like the tv series and comics (as I do), you should enjoy it quite a bit.

I really ended up caring about Clementine (the girl that Lee finds), and I don't often like children in games. Just have a lot of Kleenex handy, because you might get weepy every so often while playing through the whole thing.

who cares? there's so many game of the year awards anymore it's more of a challenge not to win one and I'm just speaking in general.

It's like the VGA have any sort of credibility to begin with. It's just a big show where producers and ''reviewers'' get together and pat each other on the back.

I'm glad ME3 won.

And this person puts it better than I do.

Lets get one thing straight. Mass Effect 3, in spite of its flaws (which are numerous), it's still a very good game. You combine that with the fact that we're dealing with an industry thats struggling to innovate and get past the Call of Duty mold and it's a no brainer for RPG of the year. .

Exactly.

What a shame. Borderlands 2 and Xenoblade each deserved it far more.
