DA3 is looking more like skyrim

To begin with, taking inspiration from Skyrim doesn't even remotely come close to meaning, making DA3 like Skyrim, you can draw inspiration from something without copying it.
Second, this article is stupid with a capital derp, its not jumping the gun, hell its not even reasonable speculation, its just some twit grabbing at a few random puzzle pieces and trying force them into the picture they want to see.

I personally didn't enjoy Skyrim. I hope that the open environments are all that they take from it. I still want some sort of structure and story that progresses. Elder Scroll games just seem like so many side quests and no real pay off, but that's just my opinion.

Come on BioWare, Focusing on progressing the plot is one thing. Making your narrative detail and well exposed is another thing. The difference between 10 pages children tales and over hundred pages of adult novel is not how well the plot is moved or word counts, but how well it attempt to create a believable and realistic narrative. Pay more attention to details, please.

what do you think good or bad, I personally think good if bioware melds the explorabiliy of skyrim and the great writing they've done before your looking at a high dragon of a game.
The only quote in that article, which is from a recent Game Informer interview, doesn't quite suggest DA3 would have any kind of more open game world, or other features from Skyrim. It only confirms the team is always influenced by other RPGs, and I imagine any developer is frequently playing other games, studying what works and what doesn't work, etc.

From everyone saying "I'm interested in you ... are you interested in me?" to Nonexistent Romance of Skyrim is the difference between these two comments. Pointing the obvious for less smart people.

And an interview with the Development Leader Aaryn Flynn.Based on what? Concept art?
"You can't look at a game like Skyrim and not think about how impressive what they've accomplished is—or [think] that's an interesting new direction or that there was something that didn't work well for them that we could take in a new direction. So, we're always influenced by these games, especially in a relatively tight-knight genre like RPGs,"
According to the Producer Cameron Lee, "Just one level in Dragon Age III is as big as all of Dragon Age II's levels,".
It's more likely to be influence, and not necessarily copying and pasting the same ideas. There is a distinct difference between inspiration and imitation...we'll see which one that is once gameplay previews are released.

It's a new style of game for them, so I hope they take the time and money to do it right, and not have it come across as a Skyrim clone.
As much as i love skyrim i hope this doesn't happen, i think it would be good to take some things from skyrim but too much and it wont feel like DA:O/DA2.

However, faction quest does put some replay value much more than basic exploring. This is the only thing that should be implemented in DA3, and it’s not even a Skyrim exclusive for that matter.
Exploring could be meaningful if aimed at finding a armor set and/or a side quest boss. This is already in DAO and DA2. Problem with DA2 was not the lack of exploration, but the recycling of maps. There was a lot of things hidden here and there, but re-doing it for the "Nth" time fell cheap.

But I honestly don't see how anyone looking at an art picture of a dalish caravan, art ruins from Origins, and a castle can say "oh! so much like Skyrim!!"
There's a bit of jumping off the deep end of conclusions.
And I also think that article is missing the two big factors in what made Skyrim such a HUGE success:
1) Fully open world with a...
2) Blank slate protagonist.
An RPG with a focus on a "cinematic" story is fine. An RPG that is geared for self-insertion is also fine.
DA2 was the former. Skyrim was the latter. And Origins was a combination of the two with a heavy seat on the self-insert side. (it's why there is such a divide in regards to the voiced protagonist... but that's the difference between a JRPG and a WRPG.)

If Dragon Age 3 adds some of the massive open world and exploration elements, but keeps all the story, deep characters, and the isometric camera, I see that as a major winning formula.
Skyrim has some major flaws in many areas. However, what they do well is letting the player choose their own path and tackle things in whatever order they wish.

You're just asking to be quoted, because this is the stupidest comment I've read thus far and thus it deserves to be quoted.
As much as I love Skyrim, the whole romance and marriage system was a huge joke. Marrying an NPC only got you a few cutscenes and a new merchant. Also, marriage consists solely of cooking food for your partner? Really?
It's clear that Bethesda obviously slapped some romance into the game at the very last minute. Honestly, the romances in Skyrim aren't even worthy of being called romances.
Now, if Bethesda would have developed these romances better...

....Which they won't since Bethesda isn't known for their great story telling and characters. Well except for Serana, she basically has been the only interesting npc in Skyrim for me.
