And Bioware seems to be thinking of Skyrim as an exploration game and nothing else. Skyrim actually has plot choices, the ability to kill almost everyone, and OMG RACE OPTIONS. Even though it doesn't have a story, it outclasses any Bioware game in every single way. The only thing its missing is a story.

And Imperials are one of the least played races alol.

It's called "artistic integrity".

Bioware is very good at that.

If your aims on posting in this thread is simply to hate on BioWare, I'll not be a happy camper.

And as for looking like Skyrim, as others have said those are concept photos.  Those types of pictures exist for DAO and DA2 as well.

We are looking on opening up the game somewhat, in large part because Frostbite will let us do it in a less restrictive way than Eclipse.

Those thinking this means sandbox game that's light on story, though, are reading too much into the comparisons to Skyrim.

depth, of any kind, when added to a great story can only improve a game.

I think the Skrim comparisons are a bit arbitrary and misleading. I suspect that the FB2 engine will mean that the maps in DA3 will be much larger than those in previous Dragon Age games. But I don't think Bioware is going to create a complete map of Orlai (or wherever DA3 may take place).

Fast forward to 4:30

Mike is giving you an idea of the plan(as of now). Much bigger area, but not open world. Specific places in that larger area, sure. Bigger maps? Of course.

Its a step closer to what Skyrim gave us, but not quite there. Which is a good thing, as its better to have differences between games and franchises instead of them all being the same.

Exactly like Skyrim? Nah, I don't think that myself. A bigger, more expansive world? Well, that's what I take "looking like Skyrim" to be, because DAO and certainly DAII felt... tiny in their maps. And linear, like with the Brecilian Forest.

I just want to know one thing... will DA3 have horses? :)

Just go back and watch the first panel about DA3 in the 2011 New York Comic Con.
In there, Mike showed a gigantic map, covering half of Thedas.
But he clearly stated: "This doesn't mean we are going open world, you will not explore every single inch of this place, just the most interesting ones."
When i hear Bioware devs talking about Skyrim, i think they mean more about the customization and the exploration felling that we have while we playing it.
I had this feeling in DA:O every single step of the way, and in DA2 this feeling ended as soon as i left the Deep Roads behind.

People sure seem to be reading a lot into a really ambiguous statement that guy made in that interview.

If they are going to take inspiration from the TES, why not Morrowind?

And my problem with Skyrim was the snow. I know there is supposed to be snow because DUH, Skyrim, but seriously I HATE WINTER AND SNOW AND ALL I SAW EVERYWHERE WAS WHITE WHITE WHITE WHITE HOOLLLYYYY JESUS THIS IS CRAZY

9?

Dunmer, Altmer, Bosmer, Argonian, Khajiit, Nord, Imperial, Breton, Redguard and Orc.

10 is the true, accurate answer.

"Looking," like Skyrim? Please do, Skyrim is a beautiful game. Though Dragon Age's art style is different and I like it very much, I'd be happy either way.

"Playing," like Skyrim? No. Dragon Age's game play is better to me.

"Story," like Skyrim? Also, no. Dragon Age's story is way better than Skyrim.

Oh, don't worry. The internet will find a way to complain.

I think it will have a more open world feel. Look at Kotor, there were some worlds you visited that was more open than bioware's recent games. I am hoping bioware creates more open areas for exploring. I doubt bioware will have a full-blown world to explore like skyrim but I hope they draw inspiration.

I love how some people hate on Skyrim because they have to...omg....role play a little bit while playing the game. Also, judging any game, but, that game in particular after two hours of playing it is so damn ridiculous.

DA series, and Bioware games in general could learn a thing or two from Bethesda.

In this analogy Skyrim is the magazine, yes?

Which makes little sense, as it's a far stronger game than DA:O in in all regards other than maybe story, but that's because it has hundreds of stories in it. And really, most of them are great.
