Let me guess, no one plays the Novaguard anymore because of the screaming?

Actually, being serious. I built one tonight, first time trying it. I'm curious why no one plays them much now. Pretty sure I would remember the constant screaming.

It's because it's not really useful for higher difficulties. Also terrible vs. collector
It's amusing against scions.

And they suffer from typical Vanguard problems, Charge not activating right, dying post-charge (thus, preventing use of Nova,) things like. They're too squishy these days.

Personally I've only played the novaguard 2-3 times since the game came out, and since I refuse to play by constantly using the charge-nova combo, it wasn't as effective as other kits I could use. It was still pretty fun with the lifting shockwave-nova combo.

I'm actually glad I don't see more Novaguards. I get enough noob Vanguards as it is, I don't need another idiot blindly charging the first thing that moves.
You've seen me play, I see.

But then I played one match, and imagined that others heard her the same way I did, screaming non-stop. So I put her away in shame, and never looked back.
I've met Novaguards in-game later, both good and bad. These days, I'm less annoyed by their screams, and more by the screenshake they bring. So, well, don't Nova behind your teammates, and you'll be all right.

I'm willing to admit my personal hatred towards the Novaguard might be a bit much, but I'm fine with that.

False. Novaguard is definitely platinum-viable with a team, and Achire even managed to solo Plat with it.
Also terrible vs. collector
True.
Anyway, I still play a round or two of novaguard whenever I host, and that's gold/platinum. It can be a very effective kit in the right hands.

People don't play them because they're quite difficult to master on higher difficulties.

How long/how much does nova canceling give damage reduction?
Nova gives 1.5 seconds of complete damage immunity.
