Good vid, covers a lot of stuff that's second nature to myself now but several of my friends can't grasp, and I just don't have the patience to conjure up a proper-vocabulary sentence to try and explain.

Loved the bit with Yakety Sax.

Definitely going to watch this. I PUG all the time, and sometimes my skill is...variable....enough (read: crap), I at least need to be useful, if I'm not managing to kill all the things. I try to be a good team-mate regardless, but more advice is always welcome.

Thanks Sirian.

No problem. :) As long as you try your best your team-mates can't really complain. And if they do they're mean and should be ignored. :P

Why do I know that intro song? It's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite make it out.

Very nice guide and I like your voice, it sounds so relaxed and nevertheless interesting or better said interested

I also liked the intro with the music and the slowmo.

What music were you listening to when you were grabbed by the banshees? Maybe you already mentioned the music you like somewhere in the forums, so a link would also be fine.

And I hope you will create other guides soon.

And are you from Australia or New Zealand? Just asking as someone here in the thread mentioned the latter.

Cheers.

And at the time I got grabbed, I was listening to Hate (an album by Thy Art Is Murder). I pretty much only listen to metal and a bit of techno these days. :innocent:

As for the last question... I'm from Australia. D: It is something people from the UK/Aus/NZ can never understand, that people cannot tell the differences between our accents.

UK people: wot u fink of dat one guvna?

Kiwis: Aww nuu bruu, I need ta git sum fush n chups for me dunner bru.

Aussies: Good eye might, throw a shrimp on the barby, etc. etc.

No self respecting Australian in the history of Australia has ever used the word "shrimp" unironically.

I know.

It also does NOT sound like "good eye might" when Australians say "g'day mate". :P

WTF IS THIS SHRIMP BS? Paul Hogan y u do this to us?

This Krogan has feelings Image IPB

I actually liked your voice in the video (no ******). It was pretty clear/concise with not alot of 'uhhhs' and 'ummms'. I liked the way it was paused to make specific points also... that's very "guide-y". It really was a good job... but yeah, you sound like you took some xanax and drank a few beers Image IPB

Maybe I should watch Crocodile Dundee and Baz Luhrmann's Australia back to back and see which one makes me want to kill myself faster. Oh well, at least we don't have as bad stereotypes as the French.

Mate, what are you worried about your voice for? It's great! Any time I hear an Australian (or semi-Australian) accent in a gameplay commentary, I smile.

Enjoyed the video. Thought something was up with my visual for a while but it turns out you were pausing intentionally.

Well constructed video. Thanks!

Thanks. =] I guess everyone is a bit self-conscious about their voice. The reason for the pauses was to help illustrate and talk about what was happening in the gameplay at the time. I tried to make what I was covering relevant to what was happening on the screen, rather than just have meaningless gameplay on in the background.

Did you record the audio first, or edit the video first and do the voice over?

I recorded the audio then edited the video. That way I could pause for as long as I needed and didn't have to worry about time constraints while talking.

I enjoyed the pauses. I may steal/utilize that myself. Would be happy to watch and listen to more videos (pending download speeds here north of Sydney...)!

Good guide. I never really thought through soft cover properly, even though I use it all the time.

edit: oh, and I didn't know the run at angles thing.  Thanks.

If Sirian was nordic (but he said he is an Aussie), then this would be the most you would ever get out of him.

Yeah I'm friends with those guys, we're just goofing around. :D

And I really have no idea what that last line is a reference to. Never been one for pop culture. There are enough cringe-worthy "Australian" stereotypes out there without me paying attention to the ones I don't know exist. :P
