My accent is not the typical Australian one.  You wouldn't believe how many people on xcal's vids accuse me of being British. <_<

By "typical" do you mean "goes up in pitch at the end of every sentence"? I heard Jim Jefferies point that tendency out once and now I can't for the life of me unhear it.

Haven't read the thread so it might have been mentioned before.

Anyway, the video looks rather dark to me which suggests that you were using Fraps and probably Vegas for video editing. Whatever the case, you need to convert the dynamic range from 16-235 to 0-255 (or Studio to Computer) to get a proper output.

Regardless of this, nice work.

Good job with this guide, Sirian.

I found a couple of suggestions that could be helpful to me. Like the one about incendiary ammo and prozy mine, I always find myself debuffing first and then shooting, while sometimes I should do the opposite.

And I think someone starting to get the feel of this game would find this guide very very useful.

Thanks for sharing!

Edit: oh another trick I learned: you've got a brute charging and nowhere to dodge? Just roll forward to it! It'll give you DR! :D

If you're that strapped for gels that you don't have any and can't buy a JEP then it might be better to do some silvers or something until you can get some gels. :P

And nope, all dodge moves give DR as far as I know.

It took some time before i found a new balance, but i've always been hanging between 0 and 30 since then! I'd never go in a match without at least 6 gels anyway, so i do buy JEPs, but i don't like it! :P
I hope to get over these issues soon enough though, 30 URs to go.

Thanks for the info about DR, i guess i'm gonna be sidesteping a tad more now.

Thanks for the tip. I honestly don't notice the darkness... but that's likely because I have photophobia. Stupid eyes. <_<

I meant that my accent is neither broad, nor general Australian. So I sound quite a bit different from most other Aussies.

After seeing this, I'm convinced the Katana is OP and should be nerfed. lol

But seriously, sweet guide. Anyone looking to jump to Gold play should watch this. It would make gold PUGs so much easier!

For what it's worth, Adelaide accents are half-way to being British.

For the first 10 secs or so when I first heard you speaking I initially though you sounded english and I'm from the uk so I can understand other people who arent from around here making that mistake. Back on topic, good video - I enjoyed watching it.

You broke down every single aspect of a pug and gameplay basics in one video, very well done.
+1 for talking about how to deal with lag compensation off-host.

Going to recommend this to a friend who just started playing and save myself a long lecture lol.

Excellent Guide.

I think I know a lot of this stuff, but I'm failing to act on it. I tend to panic too much.

Having said that, I'm now one of those players (like the fury in your vid) who can clutch half a wave, but it takes me all day.
