I was about to say the same thing with the same scarcasim. You only showed ONE path just like you did in the Origins video. Some peeps just get blinded with what they THINK they see as opposed to what it is.

Well the typical MO around these parts is:

Step 1: Conjecture.

Step 2: Demand Bioware prove that their conjecture is false. Lack of denial = confirmation.

Step 3: Panic! And spread the panic!

While I get the desire for information, there's very little we can say at this point until more announcements are made. That said, assuming your worst fears are true is just as misguided as assuming that the entire expansion story caters to your particular ending. Neither is really the case, and when we get to the point where we can answer all these questions you will be free to approve or be vastly disappointed with us in turn -- as you like.

Meanwhile, I know it's fun to panic. Everyone do it!  *runs around with arms waving*

Er, I'm new to gaming forums. Is it always like this? People's heads are exploding all over the place for no apparent reason. It's unnerving. I suspect blood mage involvement.... ;)

Yes, because this is the first forum in forum history to ever have that kind of MO.  I mean, EVER!

Tip: it means that you have a very loyal and passionate fanbase who really care about your product.  The day you stop seeing conjecture and panic on the forums is the day you should hang it up, because it means people have stopped caring.

Seriously, hire CMs who know this or something.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up in this thread, but I do believe that your origins and choices will have some effect. I'm going by this:

Ferret A Baudoin wrote...

Yay, I can finally talk about what I've been working away at. :)

Some random answers to questions brought up (obviously I can't answer everything):

* Choices in Origins definitely are recognized in the expansion.

* You do import all of your gear from Origins, but not from the chest in Soldier's Peak. But you can always pull out what you like, save, then import that save.

* You can't play an Orlesian Grey Warden in Origins.

* Amaranthine is indeed the coastal arling that once belonged to Rendon Howe. And, of course, everyone will speak with a Jamaican accent. OK, maybe that last part isn't true. :)

There is also a possibility that you are able to choose which is your sixth companion... but that just a baseless hope on my part.

Why would Bioware have someone answer our questions? I'm sure game designers or anyone expect us have better things to do all day than sit around and answer 50 questions/speculations /theories/rants about Morrigans baby all day. They probally don't even have definate answers to give us and if they did give an answer to a question and it changes by the time the game is produced they would have to hear all the crying about how Bioware/EA has lied/betrayed/bamboozled/suckered the 'loyal' customers. Character aspects, game play and story lines change from first draft to final print. Remember Morrigan was origanlly pretty fugly in the first draft of DA.

On a different note I will say that DA has done something wonderful here. It has sparked our imaginations and dreams, which an RPG has not done for me in a long time. These boards are so filled with thoughts and emotions that only a truely great game that has touched us can inspire such responses.

The story might be canonized, but so what? Its still a damn good story. Stop setting unrealistic goals for the series and you just might enjoy it that much more

Could not agree more.  I've been thinking this for a while and even said something along these lines in a different thread.  The BioWare developers are complete pricks.  They need to either not post things on the forum or hire CMs who get paid to answer customers, because trust me, I know dealing with people can be annoying, and multiply this by a thousand when dealing with forums.  But their attitude is just atrocious.

I can't WAIT to see one of the devs post something all snarky (like they usually do) over on the TOR forums after that game gets launched, where people will be paying a monthly fee, and watch how they get worked.

Ask Blizzard.

Be careful what you wish for. I get the impression that most Bioware devs are cautious about regularly posting on the forums in case they say something controversial or inadvertently offend someone.

I would rather have a developer that is relaxed enough to post honestly on the forums. Than some Community Manager whose postings are pre-approved by the marketing department and has had no involvement in designing the game.

Over the past few years, these forums would have been a less interesting place without the involvement of the "snarky" devs.

The trailer probably only shows the continuation of one of several possible playthroughs. I guess if you made Anora queen, the clips where you see Alistair, he will be exchanged with Anora, or maybe even yourself. It's true that there's a dwarf with a resemblance to Oghren at 1.20, but there's also a woman with a slight resemblance to Leliana earlier. However, if he is in it's because he is the only character you cannot actually get rid of, and hopefully he is not the only one of your old companions that can join.

Edit: typo

Bioware knows we all want to see more with all of the characters, they are good at the whole miss direction thing, its very likely we will see all of them again at some point, after all they did leave all of their stories wide open. With them being bioware, i highly doubt this was a simply poor story plot accident. only time will tellImage IPB

To be honest, though I've got no idea about any details, I trust Bioware to make a quality product. They've kept us informed about their other games, I've never, ever seen a bad release by them so far; and, to be honest, I personally think the expansion went into development before DA launched (they might have wanted to keep to a release date, but to include a campaign on resurrecting the Wardens as well).

Dragon Age has showed us (in my opinion, more than any other title, by any studio, in the last several years) that games are perfectly capable of delivering moving, intelligent and all-out beautiful stories. Bioware have, since DA launched officially proved themselves as masters of game narrative (as they did with KOTR, BG, etc). In every sense, the best in the business. So if anybody can turn out an expansion that takes the PC's major choices into account, adds new story arcs and satisfies the majority of the hardcore community as well, they can.

from what ive read, i think the old character would be the one that has scored highest on a poll as bio ware make decisions based on the community , and what of early choices i think no one has mentioned, what if you killed wyne at the tower? killed the elf before he joins party? or killing lelianna at the urn you think that has been taken into consideration? but i bet it is the dwarf on the expansion as you can see him on the trailer and hes the only character with a story that doesnt end, sten is a missrable fool who goes home morrigan left the above characters and alister all have possibilty of dying, so only orgren left and i assume as hes drunk all the time bio ware think you like him

i think the safest way to assume is that its not a bloody new game is an EXPANSION like they explained

which implies they are expanding on the story if you expand on somthing why would you go back and say Oh btw all the choices you made WERE WRONG!!

its likley all your choices stay the same HOWEVER they have a plot device that changes the situation Zombie warden!! whoever died gets ressurected by Lobster head architect guy

honestly i dont know but the fact is why worry about it i expect Bioware wouldent put choices in to a game and then made a game that would xfer your char over and then tell you this is what really happend it wouldent make alot of sense at all.

so dont worry cuz your wrong ....everthing you do is wrong D:

Question: If we get this expansion can you still do the DLC's ( warden keep and return) or does the expansion allow to use those. Im asking as Ive just beat the game on PC and realized after there is other DLC- I dont feel like playing the whole freakin thing over again just so I can play the DLC- I work for a living so have limited play time. Love the game though and looking forward to Awakening.

So far, seems like the only thing proving i finished the game as a Fem. Noble is the fact Alistair called me "His love" when he came to greet the new Wardens, that atleast i was glad he did cause i am so displeased that he's not part of the game. Though he did say he would try and join later so i have little hope he might show up sometimes later...
