With the current Mass effect they could do an indoctrianted foe, but the amount of balance required to make this possible is just a headache that isn't worth it right now.

However in the future ME4 I think PvP could be possible -DEPENDING- on how the story is set. While I agree the MP should be about having fun, I also think that the lore should take a considerable stance in the development as well. Character development though to focus on pvp however will be highly contested in terms of balance.

I myself rather just not bother with pvp all together. BSN already complains enough with a co-op game and things being OP when it does no harm to them, I don't even want to think if things went into a pvp mode.

Way more maps
enemy factions that actually have varying AI
more options/control for hosts
better servers
a class system they actually stick by, aka sentinels have biotic+tech, adepts have biotic, engies have tech, infils have tech... etc. not just "HERPADURB LETS TAKE A WIERD ALLIEM AND PUT THEM IN THIS class WITH TOTALLY NONSENSICAL POWERS DAT WILL BE FAWNNY"

Maybe gang wars? Bloodpack vs Eclipse or Blue Suns or Talons, maybe new gangs that would be pretty fun with different races with different skills going at it. =]

And all of it NOT locked! I HATE it when they lock 90% of the customisation options in games...

While I support full customization to its maxed possibility, we have to keep in mind what may be too hard on the system. I'v already experienced extremely slow load ups in the single player with the full armor customization.

This in mind I do support armor selections (Not individual bits like helmet, chest, hands, and feet) but like a full dedicated set to certain playstyles (shooting guns, using powers, survival, running, melee etc etc)

I also believe we should be able to customize as much of the armor as possible without melting the system some how lol.

So what kind of game modes do you all think they can do with the next coming MP?

For me it really will really depend on a few things.

-Story
While I know some MP folks like to laugh off lore, you cannot really laugh about lore because lore is what gives us an enemy to fight. Flexing and bending lore is fine because there tends to almost always be an exception to the rules or can be added on to.

The adding of collectors I believe could be seen as; we only took out a ship of theirs from ME2. Protheans did extend the whole galaxy, so I think its safe to assume the reapers had plenty of them left in reserve.

-PvP
While I am not fond of the idea of Mass effect suddenly stumbling into pvp because really if you think about it. We got people complaining enough about balance, now increased that ten fold when powers start getting used against them. Those of us playing co-op mainly will be suffering against computer A.I's thanks to "jimbo" complaining all week about getting killed easily by "Ringo".

But if PvP had to be added to ME4 the game modes I see being added are...
TDM - Team Deathmatch which is fairly standard amoung all MP-PvP games, shoot the enemy till X time and hope you have X kills more than them to win the match.
Capture objective - Could be a point on a map or a flag or something
D&A - Defense and Assault. Battlefield players would know this as rush where one team wants to destroy certain objectives, other team wants to keep them from destroying the objectives.

Then they -may- add some stuff to allow players to change up to the stipulations to matches like..."You only spawn X times" or "You only need X amount of points" or "Game last X longer than before" or whatever else they can figure.

However if there is no pvp what so ever. I can see them returning horde mode easy, its a proven game mode so there would be little reason to get rid of it. They -may- add stuff to it to make it suiting to how players would like to play it. But I can see also...

Special ops missions - Sort of like Spec Ops missions from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.
Survival mode - Pretty much an overgrown horde mode only it doesn't end till the team dies, so the objective may just be to get the highest survival time possible in the community.

Could even see variations of PvP modes being turned into Co-op like the D&A and such. But also because this is the frostbite engine thats going to be used, I can also see vehicle gameplay coming into effect. I know they had this prior but I can see this being bigger with the new engine.

What do you all think though?

How about heavy melee being a unlockable weapon?
I think ME3MP's free2play-clone Warframe does it like that.

Moar classes, different approaches to the hybrid classes. For eg.

tech/biotic- Controller- someone whose class power lets you directly control an enemy unit in reason and their other powers revolve around that.

tech/combat- Hunter- a class based around speed, laying traps and dodge maneuvers. Their class power boosts movement speed, power recharge and lets them scale walls. So they can ambush enemies from oblique angles.

combat/ biotic- Cynosure which means a guiding light- their class power lets them wield a gun biotically for ten seconds so they effectively duel wield. Other abilities would let them fire guns the same way as powers having them curve around obstacles and cover.

Also what would be very hard to do but so awesome is if they reworked certain classes for different aliens to respect their limits. For example drell are fragile and tech armour would offer minimal defenses, what if instead of sentinel you had something like the drell wraith :P with tac cloak, poison strike, annihilation field and shockwave, a fecking shadow of death over the battlefield.

Also if you include story mode I'd love love love different origin choices for the races the same way you had for sheperd.

But I'll love what they'll do no matter what.

I wish for more interesing kits like... Drell Soldier, Volus Soldier, Krogan Behemoth, Batarian Saboteur Engineer, Ex Cerberus Shade, Geth Destroyer, Quarian Marauder, Turian Assasin etc.

For locations...

For gameplay.

More specific weapons, created by races. I would like see more weapons from Batarians, Salarians, Asari, Geth, Turians or merc weapons like from Blood Pack. Also i would like more exciting Multiplayer, with storyline missions or horde mode to deciede.

I actually proposed this a few times in such threads. The way I picture it would go something like this:
1. Select desired class
2. Select desired race from a list of available races for selected class
3. Select a sub class that will determine your first power specific for the combination you selected (class, race, sub-class) So if you chose adept-asari-commando or justicar - you get either stasis or biotic sphere.
3. Select two powers of your choosing from a list of all available powers for the given class/race/sub-class.
4. Maybe some more armor customisation (I would be cintent with 3 different sets)
5. Try out your unique character:D

So you would have freedom to chose 2 powers with the main power being tied to clas/race/sub-class selection.

Also, and this is a bit tricky, it would be awesome if maps were made so that they are not like these 'arena type' firebases, but rather like a big 10 checkpoint walk throughs.

Just like in SP where you would have a starting point and the objectives would push you through the map from start to finish with a real extraction at the end. So basically you would never go back to a same place on the map, but instead just push your way to the extraction. Of course the objectives would have to be different. Maybe even require for a team to split two ways until the next checkpoint.
Anyway a more interesting, and challenging concept than this onslaught system.

Definitely agree with overhauling the class/species character selection. I can't believe I'm saying this, but as lines between classes have become increasingly blurred, perhaps doing away with classes entirely could be the way forward?

Then have complete customisation:
1. Pick species and gender.
2. Pick main attributes of the character - biotic focused, tech focused, combat focused. Perhaps detailed choices with scales affecting things like power cooldown/heatlh/shields/power damage/duration/ speed... all with tradeoffs. Title assigned based on overall choices (ie vanguard)?
3. Select major powers/melee styles/dodge style, based on attributes.

More powers could be part of an unlock system, which can be swapped into each kit?

The distinction between say, AA, justicar, valkyrie, AHI could be simply down to armour/body customisation, followed by picking a title?

Instead of having predefined characters, perhaps each character should be created by the player using a similar system as that in singleplayer?

Oh, weapons definitely need more than one firing mode, with much more customisation - for example could add a shield piercing unit with limited number of charges to a weapon, say the saber - have a button to switch modes back and forth in order to use this?

Cyonan has got it right this has to happen, even throw in better customizing of character appearance similar to skyrim.

You know guys what is a problem? It's possible that Bioware don't read none of ME4 MP multiplayer topics, and they will do what they want with that... I can only guess, but i sure that is possible. Why? Since they are working on DA:I and new ME now... But would be nice, if Bioware can consider old things from ME3 MP to new ME with MP.

Choose character gender like for humans vanila in ME3, but for other spieces or for N7 characters / Talon Mercenary. But for merc characters, not only choose gender but other spieces like Asari, Salarian, Krogan, Turian or Batarian... The next thing what i wish Bioware to consider, to make more awesome maps! People still love much Ghost or White, but i'm not sure if normal or hazzard versions.

The next main thing to consider... Bugs and i say this seriously... In ME3 is alot of bugs still exist... Too bad that fans, can't fix that... Sometimes i can be grabed by Banshee, when i was in cloak or far away from her.

Next thing to consider, is game store... Come on! There is some peoplewho really hate game store, i'm one of them... Get UR's is really hard, since when you got all characters, gear, mods and other weapons full...

Other things to consider? PvP, game modes, more options to customize our characters, more specialits in enemy factions, like Phantoms.

I have a great suggestion. Don't make a storyline for ME4. The stories are lame and they always have the same old premise. Save the world! Boring. And who really wants to trek through the galaxies talking to people and aliens that have nothing to do with anything other than simple story filler. I've played all 3 Mass effect games so far and not one of the stories keeps me interested enough to play the game to its completion. Campainge modes are boring and outdated.

 

On the other hand. The Co-op multiplayer is the best thing I have ever played. Destiny is boring. CoD is for virgins and kids. only good thing about CoD is the Zombie modes. I've been playing Me3 since day one and haven't stopped playing the multiplayer to this date.

 

 What my suggestion is, is to make Me4 Co-op multiplayer only. Make tons of new maps, new enemies like the Merc factions, lots more playable characters and power combinations. Maybe even make a character custimization, which allows you to custom your race, powers, guns, pretty much eveything. Obviously new missions and objectives to complete in Multi. One thing I would really like to see is a Plus mode to each difficulty where the enemies have the same health and strength as say a regular silver match, but with more waves and even more enemies in each wave than the regular difficulty for those newb players who only use 1 over powered button to kill groups of enemies. I'd like to see Characters that sync better with other characters to preform more powerful attacks or defences, for example, healer characters that work with tank char's effectively to become more powerful and unstoppable than they would on thier own. I'd like to see more combo oriented characters that need powers to work in relation with each other instead of over powering 1 move like Dark sphere or recon mine. Force newbs to think of better attack and defensive strategies, instead of them just 1 button mashing to win. Make more characters explosion friendly, because I just love the sound of a biotic or a fire BOOM!

 

But thats all I can think of for now. My suggestion is hire me. I'll make a game that only legend can describe.

How about some simple requests? Like get rid of that blasted auto aim or at least give us the option to turn it off. I can't believe this never got patch fixed for ME3mp. Makes me not want to snip sometimes for long periods of time.

 

And how about giving us total control on how to map the buttons on a gamepad? Yes, I for one would love to be able to hold the charge of a weapon while using another finger or thumb to access a vital power that gets used all the time instead of it having to be shared with the fire trigger finger.

 

All these are very obvious issues and I'd very much love for them to not exist in the next ME game. Hope it don't come across as rude, but these two things greatly upset me. So please fix them, BioWare.
