So does anybody out here play or have played Mass Effect and can suggest some mods to use..? It would really be appreciated!

What I DO know is that I detest all the changes made to the Dragon Age franchise, most of which is cited as coming directly from Mass Effect (human-only voiced protagonist who is addressed by their surname, paraphrased dialogue wheel, rigid
In fact, I'm actually getting tired of ME invading DA territory. The devs have made it clear they adore ME but dislike DA:O, DA2 was made into "Mass Effect with swords" instead of an actual Dragon Age sequel, even more ME features are being added to DA3 (like the text-based background), countless disappointed ME fans flooded into the DA forums to **** about ME3's ending back when it first came out, and many of those same fans still insist that the last 1/10th of the last game of an otherwise solid franchise deserves a funeral march while DA:O fans who lament that they lost their entire franchise after one game are just being whiners. Frankly, I'm done.
If you want to check out ME, good on you, but I have zero interest in that horrible franchise. I like fantasy more than sci fi and I like RPG's more than Action games. That's why I'm here and not in the ME forums. As far as I'm concerned, ME is the Blight that corrupted most of Thedas.

It's true the change in pace from classic RPG to faster paced, action-shooter RPG between DA:O and DA2 mirrored the one between ME1 and ME2, but the reason it was used was because it worked for the ME series. Faster, more engaging action is better for a shooter game, even if it makes a melee-combat game look like a gymnastics tournament.
I'll never be a fan of the voiced protagonist or the binary personality system, but you can still squeeze a little personality out of Shepard. And even if you don't, it's okay, because s/he is easily the least interesting character in the whole franchise anyway. The series if full of interesting and engaging characters - Bioware's speciality, I guess.
As a series, ME is a little incoherent, it has its share of plot holes, and the less said about the ending, the better. But it has some great characters, interesting stories, and ME2 particularly is, quite frankly, brilliant for an over-arching game concept. Hate what Bioware are doing to the DA franchise for the sake of trying to recapture ME's success, by all means, (and I agree with you for the most part), but don't let it sour you to the ME series in it's own right.
It's well worth a shot.
And OP - I have replied to you on your other thread. Short answer - only aesthetic ones:

I do understand where you're coming from, Faerunner, but don't write ME off just yet.
Too late.
Exactly. Just because it works for ME doesn't mean it works for DA. If I wanted to play a game with fast-paced shooter action, I'd play a fast-paced shooter-action game. Since DA:O is set in a world without guns, I think it's safe to say most fans weren't looking for shooter action when they bought it. Shoe-horning ridiculous explosive action where it is neither wanted nor needed is doing both the game and the fans a disservice. It's true the change in pace from classic RPG to faster paced, action-shooter RPG between DA:O and DA2 mirrored the one between ME1 and ME2, but the reason it was used was because it worked for the ME series. And s/he is also the character you're required to be around for the whole game. (Not to mention your mouthpiece and your link to that world.) Plus, interesting and engaging characters are not unique to Mass Effect. I can find other games (from Bioware and other game studios) that also have interesting and engaging characters without having to put up with the genre, action, protagonist and game features I don't like about Mass Effect.I'll never be a fan of the voiced protagonist or the binary personality system, but you can still squeeze a little personality out of Shepard. Too late. I've already seen the game features I hate about ME in my own beloved franchise, so I'm not interested in seeking out the mother ship. Even putting the game features aside, ME doesn't have anything else to offer. I don't like sci fi, I don't like shooter/action games, and I don't like human-only protagonists. ME has those in spades. And as I said before, I can also find great characters, interesting stories and/or over-arching themes in other games. ME literally doesn't have anything I want.As a series, ME is a little incoherent, it has its share of plot holes, and the less said about the ending, the better.
