Yes but it's odd if it doesn't work the same way in the PC version.

Strange enough that stamina regeneration, among other things, is buffed in the console version. You actually regenerate stamina with berserking once you take Constraint. That's pretty weird! And utterly unnecessary, but that's another story.

The storage does not scale items in the PC version. You need to sell the items to a merchant and then buy them back to get them to scale.

Hello all, was just coming to ask something. Now it may sound weird but instead of giving leliana light armor i am going to give her medium armor such as chain mail this is not a bad thing is it? I am only going to give her medium, and she is an archer again. My party this time is Me (DW Warrior) Alistair, Wynne and Leliana. Another thing should i give Wynne attacking spells? Right now i have her AI on Ranged and Healer.

Not weird at all. Dex, strength and cunning all work great for a rogue, and all combinations of them work great, except for strength and cunning at the same time (because Lethality picks the highest one). For example, a dex build with enough strength for massive armor gives you a really tough rogue that has a chance against attacks that can't be dodged.

Attack spells for Wynne? Yeah, definitely give her some. There are many good ones. I suggest Fireball for its knockdown (surprisingly it's as useful defensively as offensively). Cone of Cold for the freeze (and you get Winter's Grasp on the way, which is excellent). Crushing Prison is also great, and you get two good spells on the way (Mind Blast and Force Field).

I can handle the tactic slots for every class except mage because i want them to have healing also but in the same time i want them to use attacking spells and im never sure how to do that in a tactics slot.

Well, a good one is to use stuff like Crushing Prison on nearest visible class -> mage. That one's a lifesaver.

If surrounded by lots of enemies, Mind Blast.

It's always good to use Winter's Grasp a lot. If you don't mind using mana potions, you can put into tactics to use that on any old enemy, but place it low on the list (at least I *think* the top entries are considered first, correct me anyone if I am wrong here).

The tricky ones are the area effect spells. You really are best off using them manually.

Hmm okay. The only thing i dislike about one of the frost spells i think cone of cold is that it will freeze me too. If i want an ally to use a potion on there own should i put it at the top?

I know there is probably no right answer to this but is there a decent set up for Wynne or mage to heal and attack?

The tactic are numbered in priority,
so the 1st slot is top priority,
2nd slot is 2nd priority etc.
That mean you will want heal to be in first slot,
attack spells comes last.
Attack spells too are in priority,
so you would 'attack nearest mage' before attack anything else

I find that DA:O's "nearest visible mage" or "target is mage" are really ****ing stupid and Wynne ends up mana clashing warriors and rogues all the time. So I have anti-mage spells (read: mana clash) set to "target using magic attack". Slight downside in that that tactics won't mana clash spirits or wraiths, but it reliably kills other mages. And importantly no more wasting it on random not-mages.

Okay, So if i wanted a party member to use a health potion when health drops to 50% i would put that at the top? Sorry the tactics get a little weird for me.

Yes. Urgent stuff at top, not so urgent at bottom.

Okay I see. Besides Marics blade and Starfang are there other cool looking weapons in the game?

That probably depends on what your definition of cool looking is. There aren't any others as glowy though, at least until awakening. Where longsword vigilance is the best looking weapon in the game IMO.

With flaming weapons they are all good looking,
and all powerful too if spell wisp & might was ON when activate flaming weapons.
After that, deactivate spell might

I haven't had that problem. Or if I did, I must not have noticed it.

Okay. I have been wondering, will a party made up of three warriors and a rouge work? For example Me(DW warrior), Alistair(Tank), Another warrior, and Leliana? Or should you always have a mage? I really like to use Alistair and Leliana my two favorite party members.

Yeah, it works fine. You can even go with 4 warriors if you don't mind missing chests, or use the lock bash mod/a lockpick cheat. Multiple warriors, especially champions, is an extremely strong party.

I have a playthrough where every party member was a 2h warrior, each with the champion specialization. 9 AoE knockdowns, 6 single-target disables plus a 50% chance to stun on any crit, and the most fragile party member had 100 defence, 35 armour and 300hp.

It's actually quite fun to play with a multiple Warrior party. You pretty much steamroll everything in front of you :-D. Downside is, no unlocking chests.

Speccing Wynne or Morrigan or yourself to Arcane Warrior, you would have 4 fighters,
one of which also is a mage.
Or why not 3 AW & a fighter :)
Then you can buff with flaming weapons & haste

@dainbramage, How did your fragile party member have such high defense, armor and hp? My most fragile party member is leliana and her Armor, defense, and HP are not close to that

Who are the top warrior companions?

Is it hard to work with an Arcane warrior? I got the spec before but never used it, though it might be a little challenging because i didn't know what mage tree talents would work best with an arcane warrior.

Not necessarily hard, but it does require different tactics from a regular mage. There are guides for AWs - such as this one.

That's the advantage of having 4 warriors. Your "most fragile" member isn't fragile at all, and could tank for a normal party. But champions in particular go together incredibly well, because 4x rally = +40 attack and defence for everyone. Combine that with everyone wearing massive armour, and everyone's really damn hard to kill.

There are only 3 warrior companions (at least for 95% of the game...), so if you're going for 4 warriors you don't have much of a choice. But as is the usual trend, Alistair is the best because you get him the earliest, so he's not screwed up by Bioware's auto-allocation. Sten would be nearly as good, but he doesn't get a second specialization. If you use the 2 spec sten mod though, I'd say he's actually better than Alistair (simply because IMO 2h > sword 'n' board). Him missing out on racial bonuses due to being a Qunari is made up for by how early you get him, it's better than Oghren's inevitably high cunning, willpower and magic - and honestly it's only 4 stat points anyway. Oghren is useable, but only if you get him early. If Orzammar is one of the last places you go then his stats will be ruined by Bioware's ****ty allocation. But even then berserker on a 2-hander is a waste of a specialization.

Arcane warriors are really easy. Pick some sustains that increase your defences (e.g. arcane shield, rock armour), and with those, combat magic and shimmering shield up you'll be virtually invincible. Hell for a lot of fights you can ignore the combat magic and shimmering shield to reduce fatigue and mana drain and you'll still be nigh invincible with just heavy/massive armour, arcane shield and rock armour.

Equipping an arcane warrior is more of a challenge, since you want low fatigue and to try and get as much mana regen as possible.

AW is the only thing good enough for me, since i die with other builds.
EQUIPMENT wise i want
Blood armor
Warden commander boots
Gloves of diligence
Spellward
Lifegiver
Helm of honnleath
Andruils blessing
WEAPONS
Spellweaver, and Ignacio's dagger in off hand
SPELLS
Start with rock armor & spell shield
Full arcane mastery line
Full arcane warrior line
Flaming weapons
Full mana alteration line (mana clash)
Spell whisp

That's about it, a 2nd specialization would be blood magic, also full line.

Allocation, first make 42 magic, then increase dexterity to 26,
then continue with pumping up magic, and eventually around 30 dex

When activate sustainables, and especially flaming weapons, have spell wisp & spell might activated already,
(and then switch off at least spell might)
except for combat magic that does not benefit from the spellpower boost

@keeneaow, Thanks for that, seems a little crazy but i will try it out.

@dainbramage, Is there any good way to keep Leliana alive longer? I love having her party since she unlocks stuff but her health depletes like crazy. I have it set up so she uses a health pot when health drops to 25%. Should I just use Medium armor on her or are rouge archers better with light?

As for a warrior party i would probably keep everyone one i have but switch wynne for probably Oghern dunno.

I have the same problem with leliana,
eventually i installed Bash lock mod and thus removed any reason to have her,
well except for in the city, where i need her to steal in the quest
