Many here say so but what do you think?

I think so, but there is a significant number of players (at least on this forum :P) who disagree

Absolutely. It had better combat than ME1, but other than that it was the overwhelming loser of the bunch.

Nah, they all have their ups and down. I like all three equally, so far.

ME2 is kind of a favorite of mine, though, since it randomly introduced me to the series.

ME3 was the best game in the trilogy for me, until it ruined everything with the last 15 minutes.

Its only lesser when it is stood up against ME and ME2 but its still better than 95% of all the other games out there

Yes, overall I think it is the worst.

OP- Is there really a need for the inflammatory language? ....you could have found out the same information with a thread title of "what is the best game in the trilogy?" and a poll of all three. I say this because by starting off the way you have, you are inviting hostility tbh.

No way ME3 was an emotional roller coaster for me. I never laughed, cried, cursed, and cheered in any video game, movie, or single event before ME3. It was the best combat, graphics, emotion, the series had to offer. All were good. ME 1 had the best ending. But ME 3 had my attachments seen finalized.
I don't understand how poeple say that is was not that great unless they were just jaded by the end or just wanting to join the mob and fit in or just throwing stones to take out thier own problems on the game.

Well to be fair the ending pretty much spit on all our choices

Since I played Mass Effect 2 and 3, I don't like playing ME again. In the first game, Shepard just wasn't that agile than in ME3.
I like ME 2 the most. It had the best Squad and the best ending (Suicide Mission was just epic).

you are right, it was very emotional, I felt attatched to all the characters...but in the end, they pretty much discarded the characters and gave us no closure.

Jaded by the end is probably an accurate description of peoples reaction when replaying it.

Replayed it the other day....now THAT is how you end a game!

Not really. ME2 is the worst of the three.

Still a great game though.

 Yes. It's pretty much terrible from start to finish, with brief bright spots in Rannoch and Tuchanka.

Well I would have disliked the game even if the ending would have been good.
Why?
-Autodialogue;
-Treatment of the companions;
-The story;
-Cerberus;
-The way some character were handled;
-Boring side quests.

Despite all that I don't HATE the game but I do really DISLIKE it. It had much more potential in my opinion.
And it failed on so many levels for me.

I like all the Mass Effect games, each brings it's own distinct flavor so speaking of the "worst" ME game dosen't apply to me.

ME3 the worst of the series? Yes I think so.

After a long break I started a new ME1 playthrough a couple of days ago. I'm planning to play ME2 with this character as well, but I have no intention of playing ME3 again. And that's not just about the ending. Even if I played it again, I would stop before even reaching priority: Earth. The other major flaws in ME3 prevent me from doing even that...

it is flawed, many missions feel rushed, the side missions are an insult to this genre, the combat is degenerated to shooter level and the ending is .... lets not open this can of worms.

what really saddens me, are the emotions, that are forced on my avatar.
after thessia, i wanted to kill kai leng - i just wandet to break his faceplate in the vacuum of space. i wanted to see the water evaporating and freezing from his lungs and eyeballs. in short - i was pi**ed ... and my shepard?
.. wanted to throw the towel - WTF?!? - total emo mode.

this is where i really felt disconnected from my avatar - this is the worst thing that can happen in an rpg.

the problem with forced emotions go on ... ok .. earth had to be emotional - but not retarded. it feels, like the emotions on earth were just there, to cover up the bad and half-assed design of the mission. this mission alone coukld be a reason to call mass effect 3 the weakest game of the series.

despite the sh*tstorm above, it is a solid game - but its not mass effect calibre.

Just finished a playthrough of all three and ME3 does stick out as the worst.

It's by no means a bad game, ME1 and 2 trounce it in terms of story, emotional depth and replayability in my opinion.

I much preferred the 'trilogy' after Mass Effect 2. The excitement of not knowing what was coming next, all the things they could have done with certain characters, locations etc. Somehow ME3 was a little disappointing...

i like every game in the series nearly equal with that being said they all have there knocks, ME had the worst combat, ME2 lacked RPG to me and ME3 had the worst writing of the series it had it's moments but overall fell flat.

I think Me3 is undoubtedly the worst. There weren't many returning squad members, dialogue options, war assets are pretty much meaningless, and on top of all that theres a terrible ending. I actually like Me1 combat, if they just toned down the difficulty of insanity and Me2 was one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion.

No, ME3 is bad, but not the worst. ME2 was the worst. When I say "worst" I mean story. I don't care about gameplay if story is terrible.
