I don't assume anything based on class. I do assume something's bad gonna happen for someone's N7 rank less than 100 and challenge points less than 1000.

Krogan Sentinels.

EDIT: Also.....Destroyers with Sniper Rilfes.....every single one I have encountered has been completely useless. No exaggeration.

I can personally judge from their loadout and consumables moreso than the class on how people are going to play. There are players that do unconventional stuff with the popular classes. I just usually hope for the best and hope that they don't do the spamming of the electric/biotic slash if a slayer or shadow pop in. Don't be too quick to judge because sometimes it'll backfire in your face and you could end up with a good player who doesn't do the annoying stuff.

I remember the old days where playing a Drell, T.Sol, Human adept got you kicked from a room with a quickness. Try getting kicked from 4 rooms straight just for using a low tier character THEN tell me about prejudice.

When I see someone with a Drell Vanguard, I assume he's a much better player than me! ^_^ That's probably the one class I still can't do anything with, and I do admire people who can.

Of course, assumptions are not always right :P

ALso, lately, all human soldiers I see are always absolute beasts, not something I'd have necessarily associated with the class, but it happened often enough I am coming to expect it.

Demolishers and Volus usually set off the alarms in my head. I've seen far too many terrible examples of them and not enough good ones, I can't trust them any more.

I grow concerned whenever I see Particle Rifles or Geth Pulse Rifles with a stabiliser equipped. The frequency with which I see that is just as worrying.

camping outside the map with a sniper rifle and unlimited ammo from pylon... never coming down.

I have prejudices against Volus Adepts, Demolishers, Shadows, Phoenixes, Slayers and Novaguards.

I can understand understand the others, but why phoenixes?

Depending on load out; I get warnings bells from:

Vanguards + shadow - high risk of non-team play, messing up spawns, dying in odd places
Volus - low DPS, unless played well
Ghost/havoc - no grenades for DPS grenadiers

Otherwise it's mostly kit/weapon/consumable combinations, and not kits specifically.

Adept: These bastards are going to be everywhere I am, and they're going to make my screen shake all night and day.
Soldiers: My best friends
Engineers: My other best friends
Sentinels: The rarities
Infiltrators: My Kin, a team full of four infiltrators is always a guaranteed success
Vanguards: My right hand men/women because they're awesome back-up.

hmmm OP.... what to say to this...

I get where ur coming from, kinda. but I for one look at 'class' last when evaluating a pug. first I scan weapons and their lvls, then gear/mods... if suspect, then challenge points / n7 rank. then class.

and you'd probably hate seeing me, since my kits of choice are Fury, Drell (adept or vanguard) Asari Vanguard. and I love the Shadow vs Geth, spec'd out of electric spam (but you'd see that in the lobby right?) since it can shadow strike OHK anything but primes on gold.

what else... no, you won't see me most of the game, on any level, vs any enemy, unless it's to help kill a boss, do an objective, revive u, or stop you from getting sync killed. I'll likely use nearly all my consumables as well. And to be honest, the best players I've played with, play in a similar run and gun, situationally aware but team goal oriented, fast and deadly style.

Let's hear them!

I just saw an engineer with an adaptive war amp gear.  That is pretty extreme though.
Usually it's more like a particle rifle with stabilizer.

I have seen a ton of silver games where someone just stands in front of a guardian and keeps shooting the shield with a shotgun without piercing mod or AP ammo.  And not even the slot, the mid of it.  Sigh.

Demolishers on Jade are so annoying. They go and camp in that little room and let the enemies come to them. That room has basically no cover. Also the fact that most people will go there and camp with them on Gold is st0000pid.

I agree with OP. Most Demolishers just camp near their pylons and are not team players. They don't use their pylons to help the team and they don't PTFO..

I also hate Volus who don't constantly cloak. I mean ffs you have a free cloak and you're squishy use it. Also they don't Shield Boost. I play Volus all the time and I know they got cooldowns like every other kit, but learn to use your Shield Boost even if even just sparingly, especially if you are a Mercenary and your other 2 abilities aren't spammable.  There are a lot of bad Volus players out there and they give guys like me who enjoy them and play them awesome a bad name cause they don't know how to cloak and roll, stick and move.

Slayers who just spam Biotic Slash.  They are the worst.  I rarely see them anymore thanks to FBW getting reworked, but they are still noobtastic on the rare occaision you see them.

Vanguards who don't use Biotic Charge.  LOL wtf??

If I play a Sentinel and see more than 2 Harriers... No thanks. That's just not gonna work for me.
Edit: 2 or more, that is.

I have had good experiences with Drell players so far, because the classes are so squishy.  Most people try them once or twice, get smeared to the wall, and then never touch them again.  So the Drell you meet in PUGs are usually people who know what they are doing.

I like playing the Fury myself, and I usually like seeing them.  I have never gotten Asari Vanguard to work for me, and you see them very rarely. If you do, it's mostly people who know what they are doing.

If you play Shadow against the geth, I will expect the worst but be pleasantly surprised if you don't electic spam screenshake me all the time and need reviving on the other side of the map.  Prejudices are there to be proven wrong, after all.  In fact, because it's so rare, I would send you a friend request :D

I'm new to the game and haven't got a harrier so far. What's the matter with it?

And btw with all this "assuming" in this thread, why doesn't anyone make a joke about direct control :(?

Seen good and bad players w/ every kit and nearly every loadout imaginable. I've learned its rather pointless to prejudge unless the player is using a really odd loadout- like wrong amps for the weapon they use, 2_heavy weapons on power-heavy classes (like, say, HA w/ a Jav or BW), using the common weapons that come w/ each kit when first unlocked, melee mods on a non-melee kit, etc. Fortunately, that kinda stuff is infrequent these days, at least in my experience.

Ya won't really know till ya play w/ em though. Guns and certain powers are so good atm that a good player can make pretty much anything work.

I spec my demolisher pylon for radius and put it down where I think the team can get in it for the bonuses. Drop it in hack circles, extraction etc (although normally only arrive at extraction for sub 20 seconds).

As shadow I try and cloak round the back of the enemy and hit and run, if I die I gel because I know I'm on my own - because I'm so paranoid about causing a team wipe.

If I see an Adept armed with a Javelin and a Crusader, I roll my eyes and leave the lobby. It just doesn't make sense.
