Just because something isn't forbidden doesn't mean its not frowned upon. It does say quite clearly on the descriptions of the forums that this is for general discussion, and there is a separate forum for mod release/announcement/recruitment.

No offense but pay attention to the numbers.

Definition of General

1 : involving, applicable to, or affecting the whole
2 : involving, relating to, or applicable to every member of a class, kind, or group
3 : not confined by specialization or careful limitation
4 : belonging to the common nature of a group of like individuals : generic
5 a : applicable to or characteristic of the majority of individuals involved : prevalent b : concerned or dealing with universal rather than particular aspects

......

You guys have no respect for math or even the english language.

I give up.

You're confused about a few major things:

1) Lack of response posts to your "advertisement" does not mean people didn't notice it.  It just means they are not interested enough to post.

2) Post count does not account for lurkers.  Many people may view your actual project page, but you won't know that unless they either post or download your file(s).  If you have no files, then they have nothing to download.  If you have nothing to download, then they probably won't post a comment.

3) These forums would probably be a more enjoyable place if everyone had to register their actual game to post.  Heck, I'd advocate having to log in to even read the forums.

Read? no, that would keep people trying to find information on the game out of a great source of it. Post? possibly. They have it set up that way in the announcement forum, I think it should be extended to the whole toolset forum group, but definitely not the DA forums

There is nothing to really prevent wowfanboi1298 from spamming the forums repeatedly with multiple accounts.  You can't permaban if you can't control the ability to create a forum account.

There are other ways of tracking people other than their game key.

Those ways can be easily circumvented by a determined spammer/troll.

wtf ... lol ... Corrupt moderators.. Actually cracks me up :) I guess i'd do the same if I was bored.

GG moderators you are king here.

This post was originally in general discussion.

I guess the moderators don't want the public to know about mods.  Ok fair enough.

And they expect me to associate my $50.00 key with this forum. hah

Perhaps you modders need to request a specific forum that is open for the general view...there are folks interested in mods.

Going through channels works better than trying to force someone to do what you want. :P

Get your modder buddies together and post a request for a special general forum where completed mods and discussion of same takes place, by modders themselves and the end users.

This way your mods would be more available for those who wish to use them.

First, as has been stated before: replies != views.

Secondly, if there is a valid argument in terms of increasing the exposure given to mods, I would propose it be this:

a) Have the existing forum designed for BUILDERS, to announce when they are starting their projects and recruiting for co-contributors.

B) Create a NEW forum or area within the social site designed specifically for PLAYERS, for modules that have been completed and released - preferably higher on the page within the "Dragon Age: Origins" section rather than the "Dragon Age Toolset" section.

This way the toolset section meets the needs of the builders in terms of seeing what other builders are doing and being able to contribute and collaborate to produce modules. In addition, there is a section more visible to players to enable them to see user made content available for them to download and play.

Based on the NWN2 forums' dynamics only, I have STRONGLY felt that COMPLETED AND RELEASED modifications & modules intended for players (at the very least) should be allowed to be advertised in a General/Player forum. It is a well-known fact that the NWN2 "Modules" section is mainly frequented by builders, as I presume is the case here.

Unless there is a compelling reason to prevent that here (and the risk of "clutter" does not sound very compelling to me at first glance), then I don't see why it should be forbidden.

If the administrators refuse to change the policy, then I would welcome what AmstradHero proposes. I think it is a fine alternative.

I would too like to see an implementation of the NWVault model here, as suggested by Challseus and many others besides. One does not preclude the other however.
