Make it so we can make peace between Free Mages and Templars

Modern hipsters wouldn't feel complete without a healthy dose of mature grimdark in their storylines (since it's doubtful many of them have it in their lives).

But if it's a really happy ending what is the 4th DA gonna be about? A Sims-style game? A dating sim? Not as much fun as throwing fireballs at darkspawn.
I guess we got our hands full, after some free mages going powerhungry and frustrated templars create some sort of guerilla crusade

1.) This makes us friends forever.
2.) If DAIII became a sort of qunari-centric version of Cooking Mama, I would totally still play that game!

Yep, I agree there. I think the cost should be an important factor. In DAO you could have a "happy" ending in that every one of your followers and yourself is alive. What is the cost of that? The Dark Ritual. Whether that cost was worthwhile, we'll have to see what the writers have in store for us.zambingo wrote...
I don't think it is fair to say the OP wants a children's fairytale ending.
I believe it is dramatically possible to appeal to a more grounded and mature audience while creating an end game with a "united front, happy ending". The cost of a "win" like that can be displayed in numerous ways to 1) make it palatable to the grimDark crowd 2) believable for the realist crowd 3) happy for the idealistic crowd.

Unless he in all seriousness wants the Arishok to bake everyone cake.
That wouldn't be too terrible, actually.
