Because I am sure many people here would identify more with a brainless husk

(dont get your knickers in a knot it was just a joke, the Tranquil arent brainless just emotionless)

And why would you want to be a boring tranquil, it's just...boring?
And you can't be an awesome Bloodmage as well.

First- tranquil have no talents, besides enchanting items.

Second- If they did have talents they wouldn't use them because they're tranquil. They have no emotions they wouldn't be inclined to start conflict, or even be apart of it. If tranquility was a background the story would have the main character standing around asking passerby's "Would you like any enchantments"

And instead of the three main "personalities" we have just one, "quietly indifferent", delivered in a flat and creepy monotone (the icon in the dialogue wheel is a man shrugging).

And no friendship/rivalry system, no romances!

That would allow some spectacular roleplaying, I'm sure.

And you can't reject any quest. If anyone happens to make any requests or demands of you, you must fulfill those instructions immediatly.

Unless it sblatantly illogical or self-destructive.  The Tranquil aren't mindless slaves.  Obedience just make sense more often...wait most quests in RPGs are both illogical AND self-destructive.  You'd end up rejecting every quest.  Nevermind.

Also, the OP was clearly making a joke, people.

First enchanter wakes you up one night and proceeds to command you to set forth and kick ass, possibily with abit more description so as to not let you be waylaid with trivial tasks.

Armed with indifference and a command to inflict maximum violence upon unspecified foes. This would clearly be the next ultimate badass.

Think of a tranquil as a robot, they could be amazingly powerful warriors with no regard for their own safety! Pain would be nothing to them, the only thing that would stop them from completing their goal is complete destruction of the body.

Just because you don't feel pain doesn't mean that you can't bleed to death.

Bolded. Destruction of the body counts as anything that keeps the body from operating. Bleeding out is complete destruction.

I'd say delayed complete destruction. There are police videos of gang bangers on speed who received several fatal gunshot wounds (shotgun hits to the chest with buckshot at close range) and they just kept walking executing the officers before dieing a few minutes later from blood loss or loss of oxygen from collapsed lungs.

Without feeling pain you CAN turn into a freaking killing machine, the only body part you can't live with is the brain, without the destruction of the brain and without pain you just keep walking until you run out of blood (/which can take a while even with a ruptured aorta)

I must admit, it would hardly be the first example of  an asassin that was more effective because of a lack of emotional response.

Those are all great points, but I want to focus more on what they would do before they die instead of how they would survive for minutes longer. Do you agree that cold effective nature of a tranquil would actually benefit the Inquisitors? Their main goal is to figure things out and then fix things, and a tranquil is perfect for this job if developed correctly. They are not static creatures, only emotionless ones.

Tranquil so far have exhibited little to no independant thought at all. If your plan was to get a group of them in a room, hand them a box of clues and say "solve this mystery for me", you won't get very far.

Not how tranquility works.

From the Dragon Age Wiki: "The Tranquil are stripped of their capacity to form anything other than a logical opinion. However, they neither lose their memory nor become automotons: they possess free will. They do not wish to die and are no more susceptible to suggestion than they were previously. They're more agreeable and would not normally oppose an authority figure, but if the Tranquil saw a logical reason not to follow an order, they would do so. Tranquil can't take offense and know no modesty."

"Do whatever it takes to solve this mystery for me. Oh, and don't take orders from anybody else from now on."

Now their goal is to solve the mystery, not only that but they're free of control from everybody, even their handler who made the mistake of phrasing their words the wrong way.

It's an MC Tranquil. The very definition of badassery.

That's not what we've been shown in-game though. In fact, I'd say there's quite a large disparity between what this codex describes and what we actually see.

Well this won't happen because of a voice pc.

Tranquil sound different from 'normal' people, so different lines would need to be written and voiced, waste of resources for just one pc.

All that being said I would like a tranquil companion.
