What do you think of Bannerless players joining Gold/Plat at this point?

When I see somebody with one of the flashy, harder to get banners I tend to assume they've either spent a lot of time grinding on bronze, and are likely out of practice for higher difficulties, or they're more interested in their epeen, their pretty flag, and their precious personal score than they are in keeping team mates alive and winning the game.
Personally, I tend to dislike banner players, ESPECIALLY the people who are trying to earn the Reap/Cerb/Coll/Geth kill banners. These guys tend to be more interested in killing things than they are in obtaining objectives.
I've not made any attempt to earn any except one, the commando banner, and I've hated every slugging play through to earn it. I actually prefer somebody who has no banner, level 20, and has a good load out. When I see that I'm confident that the person is there to play the game and win the prize.

Maybe they don't like grinding for Challenges in Bronze? You have to admit... 200 Waves with a character is a bit absurd.
To be fair, none of my banners have been done by grinding in Bronze. All have been gold+.

Considering my banner turns itself off after every single game, I don't really care.
Interesting. My wife tends to get turned off everytime my xbox gets turned on. Weird... huh...

No disrespect intended, but for me it's people like you who I worry about in a lobby. Anyone whose mental expectation for the game is directly reflected by whether a player bothered to throw on a banner or not is probably going to compromise the quality of the game (at least, that's my experience).

At least I look at game as game and don`t judge the people behind it.
As far as I can tell, you judge bannered/bannerless players more than me.
When I see a banner/bannerless I natually end up having certain expectation on each player along with what equipments they are wearing.
It helps me choose my character, load out, and expect how long the game might be.
99% of the time I kick player is only because two other players insist to kick 4th one and I respect majority`s decision.
If you think this thought prcess is wrong, maybe we should all just stop thinking. Also kick system shouldn`t be needed.

Trust me. You are the minority. Check out a Bronze pug sometime. Level 20's everywhere with level X rares running around. Nothing new since the challenges came out. I'm guilty of it for a few characters I never liked using.

All it shows is that people aren't grinding specific challenges for the sake of it.

I just enjoy it.
So no. Banners mean nothing, and I don't pay attention to them.

I remember someone on day 3 or so after Retaliation, a thread on the forums said they got kicked for not having a banner. But, in my experience, banner-less players do just as great as banner players, including me.

And on a side note I have seen people with a 5000+ challenge score who didn't put any banners on.. Who cares.. Maybe they don't like the banners.

Banners don't mean much, if they downloaded Retaliation late, then that can't be their fault.

Maybe I should have made it clear that it`s not just about being bannerless.
Of course, some players have good reasons of not having banners. Many bannerless players can easily show their quality more than enough with their N7 rating/ Load out/ Equipments in Gold/Plat lobby.
Bannerless players are not necessarily bad. They can be easily be the best.
Most of players I meet in Gold/PuG do have banners though.. very very few without banner and they are often not ready for gold.
Not sure about Plat/PuG since I only did 2 Plat PuG post last DLC.

but if anyone cares (at all) about my point of view I posted enough replies to make them clear.
Before questioning me further & give me life lesson. I will appreciate a lot if you can check my other replies.
In short:
Bannerless don`t have definite meaning. Some have good reasons not weating banner.
When you see bannerless in Gold/Plat lobby, what do YOU think?

Ive been sticking to silver lately to re-learn the game from a different perspective. How to use my powers better, how to build classes, etc. As well as I don't have to worry bout dumb ass randoms wasting my time. But when I jump into gold, I get the OMG kick him response. Which I take stock of their mic status, what equipment, and I usually bounce if they aren't team players. I can hold my own on Gold, even with Silver weapons on some classes/characters.
But honestly I just rock the weekend challenge banners, cuz I don't have the other ones yet mainly. Since someone else mentioned it... people have lives outside of games.
