Maybe they don't like grinding for Challenges in Bronze? You have to admit... 200 Waves with a character is a bit absurd.

To be fair, none of my banners have been done by grinding in Bronze. All have been gold+.

Trust me.  You are the minority.  Check out a Bronze pug sometime.  Level 20's everywhere with level X rares running around.  Nothing new since the challenges came out.  I'm guilty of it for a few characters I never liked using.

Oh I believe you, I'm just saying more than few banners don't require grinding. And getting banner doesn't necessarily equate to grinding for it:)

I probably am biased since I grinded for husk scores only...
After 2 months, I thought many players would have no problem having a banner without grinding for it.
But I guess more players choose to only play limited set up than I originally thought.. preventing them from having a banner.

Something to keep in mind: Some players are humble and don't prescribe the e-peen mentality. Some of us choose to not use banners because we don't want to stand out. This may be a European vs. American mindset, but keep in mind, not everyone likes waving a giant flag to draw attention to their e-peen.

I highlighted this only because I wanted to show how foolish it looks. "European vs. American mindset?" What are we, at war? Why don't you smoke some hash or something man. You're trippin..

I've only found players on this forum who are as good or better than me, and I only have corsair and the squad something banner. I'll never unlock most the banners because I don't want to use crappy guns and certain characters that I hate. For instance, I'll never use smash, BS, or ES.

I said this eariler too, but

A player wearing corsair banner is really no different than wearing spectre banner for me.
It at least definitely shows that the player was one time commited enough to do a weekend operation along with the length of the time they`ve been on-line.

Meh. A banner is a choice. Judging the potential skill level of a player on rather they have a banner or not is being unfair to them and yourself.

Personally I choose not to display one since most of them aren't all that great looking...aside from the N7 banner. That's a slick banner....but the number of promotions I had to endure. Ugh.

I have no banner n7 of 480ish give or take.

I often outdo players who have banners.
Not having medigel all the time or rockets forces me to play conservatively and not rush headlong into battle and remain aware of my surroundings.

You judge people by a stupid ass banner that some people just don't care about others feel meh about the players who use them too. It's essentially a sticker.

Maybe I should judge people with banners as spending to much time in bronz/silver and are not ready for the higher levels. I also just recently picked the game back up. So I have no banner and still don't care for them.

Yes, everybody knows that.

I am talking about players who don`t choose not to wear banner, but simply having no banner due to the lack of experience/time spent.
Which is completely fine, except that they are trying to play Gold/Plat.
Actually, this is fine too because I don`t care that much how one performs in the game.

So if you drop into a lobby with three players using the Halloween banner or the SMG Mastery banner you feel more confident playing with them than three players with no banners?

No disrespect intended, but for me it's people like you who I worry about in a lobby. Anyone whose mental expectation for the game is directly reflected by whether a player bothered to throw on a banner or not is probably going to compromise the quality of the game (at least, that's my experience).
When I see somebody with one of the flashy, harder to get banners I tend to assume they've either spent a lot of time grinding on bronze, and are likely out of practice for higher difficulties, or they're more interested in their epeen, their pretty flag, and their precious personal score than they are in keeping team mates alive and winning the game.

Personally, I tend to dislike banner players, ESPECIALLY the people who are trying to earn the Reap/Cerb/Coll/Geth kill banners. These guys tend to be more interested in killing things than they are in obtaining objectives.
I've not made any attempt to earn any except one, the commando banner, and I've hated every slugging play through to earn it. I actually prefer somebody who has no banner, level 20, and has a good load out. When I see that I'm confident that the person is there to play the game and win the prize.

Hey that's a bit unfair, I got my reaper banner naturally and I am a team player.

Yes. I will personally feel more confident with players wearing SMG banners.
Not because I expect them ot better or worse, but because I know they at least have certain weapons, have spent time, and cared enough to do certain things in this game.

Also.. if they are wearing A BANNER, I cannot tell what other banners they have.
If they are wearing No Banner, I know they have their own reasons whatever it is.

You are not getting the point.
Read the post.

Read the OP.

Took me until a week ago to get Death Guard. I chose to wear no banner because I didn't feel like one until I had it, though I did briefly don the Halloween Challenge one since it was pretty great. But no banner does no mean a bad player.

They either don't care for banners, or don't focus on any specific challenge. You should feel ashamed for judging people because they don't have a banner. This isn't an e-peen contest. If you want skilled matches to go quickly, play with friends. I personally enjoy randoms and frequently see lobbies half-and-half when it comes to banner-donning. No problem with it, and its always good to help out newer players, rather than going "lawl, you're bannerless, you suck."

I have taken to walking into matches without a banner just because I haven't unlocked one that I like all that much. I found out that if you select the banner for completing the weekend challenge, that there really is no banner and you enter matches without one. It is nice that we are able to do that, intentional or not.

I usually think it takes forever for their banners to load.

It's not like banners show skill anyway, except maybe a little bit for Lone Wolf.

Plus, I know of a way to remove my banner during certain days if I so desire.

I have a friend who took down his banner on purpose - he's a good player too - but i don't think such cases are all that common. Still, lack of a banner on its own doesn't mean much, it's a combination of banner/n7/loadout that gives a rough idea of what to expect.

I don`t know why people like fancy word such as "Judging" in just a video game.

ME3 MP is full of things like N7 rating, Banner, Challenge points and even Load Out, and a player thinking certain things based on that is bad?Posted Image
Whatever each players thinks, they are there for reasons. They can be used for something if one wants to.

Beside, if I am judging them, I will definitely show them my "Judegement" with little X Kick mark sign which I don`t.

I understand what you're saying, OP.

While I don't necessarily determine skill according to banners, the gold PUGs (PS3)  I have played in as of late somewhat confirm what you are saying. I always check over everyone in the lobby with or without a banner, but I'm definitely more lenient on the people with using weird builds because often times you have to use weird weapons to complete these challenges. Honestly when I see the different alien banners I see it as someone who is versatile and can at least play quite a few classes decently.

And for those who say 'oh well they just grind', so what? Technically I did for my commando badge, but I played nothing but gold. Not everyone dumbs themselves down to bronze/silver for challenge points.

So yes, I do judge people to a certain degree, but I won't kick them/leave unless they're not using any equipment/completely awful loadouts.
