I'm about 2/3 of the way through the PSN version. I found the minigame a bit challenging at first because I wasn't expecting it to be so ridiculously fast but I got used to it pretty quick. Now I rarely mess up. If you can't get it in 20 goes then either your version is bugged or you need to figure out a system for pressing the buttons that works better for you.

Try hovering your finger over the gap between the buttons so you're not anticipating. At the same time, stay focused on the gap between the buttons on the screen; if the button below your vision lights up twitch your finger down, if the button to the left of your finger lights up flick your finger left, etc. Sounds silly but it worked for me.

As far as missing containers goes I haven't come across anything crucial that couldn't be bought from a vendor. Once you hit about level 25 there is rarely anything useful in locked crates. Salvaging probes and recovering artifacts are important for the collection side missions, although these are kind of annoying after a while anyway. There are also a few side missions where you need to decrypt terminals etc but as long as you have enough omni gel on these occasions then you're set.

Thanks!  That's assuring to know!

I started off wondering if it was latency and even tried sitting closer to my console and TV so as to reduce latency between the controller and the console, as well as between the TV and my eyes! LoL..  But to no avail...

There seems to be a good number of folks with this issue (read quite some threads floating around the Internet about this) but it seems to work for the masses otherwise.  I'm also pretty sure I need the practice and haven't quite gotten the hang of it yet.

Regardless, so long as it's not game-breaking, I'm cool with missing a little here and there.

Have since moved on with the other missions and am enjoying my fill of ME yet again.  Finished 2 and 3 and now re-doing it all after (when) I finish 1 for the first time!  Woo hooo!

same for me.
i recently buy psn download version from store region 3, playing on veteran difficulty.
on eden prime i only complete first over ride, with 20x retries. the second and the third on pissed me off, yes im put my 4 finger, and my wide open eyes stuck on the screen, even in lazy mode i cant get right, it's just so frustating.

I've been running my tv set in game mode.
...maybe i will try lower the resolution (to increase respond times??)

This is an old thread, but just for anyone (like me) searching through the net for answers... I'm a long term Mass Effect player... have been playing since its original release on Xb1 and have 10 different Shrpards... I rarely ever get the minigame wrong, I might get one wrong in a whole Me1 run when barely paying attention... but a month ago I started a new play through... for some reason, this time I've gone to salvage two items... most run so fast I miss the first time... I even had one which was the same button four times, yet the fourth somehow missed even though my thumb never left the pad... a tad ridiculous! It was massively mitigated by leaving the level and coming back... still frustrating though. So I'm guessing, playing the same game for years and never encountering this, it's rare enough as I would just assume timing was the issue to this post had I not gone through it... and even if it is, that's some damned timing!
