load alistair up with potions and use him - make sure you use his special abilities too.

Couldn't tell you without knowing what spells your mage has. You have Shale and Alistair? Do you have Morrigan?

Shale has no way to avoid being knockdown and her attacks are slow. Alistair should have all the shield skills. Bring up shield wall. Alistair should not be beaten that easily. If you have Sten or Oghren and have all the two handed skills use Indomitable to avoid knockdowns. Make use of the 2 handed skills. (Sunder arms etc).

If you are using a rogue, make use of shealth and all your dirty tactics. Your mage dealt the most damage do you have a way to keep him/her alive. Make use of Cone of cold, crushing prison and paralysis. Check Loghain's title is it yellow or orange. If it is orange you may have a tougher time beating him. You should be able to clean his clock.

this is up to you choose talent for main charecter.if you pick Morrigan, she is best option to face him, he die easy with frenzy and buffspell, most warrior weakness mental resistant mindblast and horror is most effective

The tough part of the duel is that you lose 3/4 of your party, so you really can't compare it to other bosses unless you like to play solo. I think the basic tactic is don't rush to the end of the game and arrive at Loghain being level 12... do some side-quests. Get those three grandmaster runes onto your tier 7 weapon, get the dragon scale armor or something as nice. Make sure you have a few good tricks in your arsenal (one is not enough... your cone of cold will thaw, you need a followup). Basically try not to be in the way of those massive 2-h attacks he makes. Try to outdamage him with your skills -- you should hear a lot of 'Oh, nicely done!' comments from the onlookers, if not, your timing is off. Try to get your wonderful moves off before he uses his. My first time through, he creamed anyone I tried against him. I had to drop to casual. Second time I tried to be closer to level 20 and less in a hurry, and it was a lot more fun on normal. I have no idea how you'd win on the higher settings I'll leave that to the super-tweakers. If you find him so easy, go solo Gaxkang and send us the play-by-play, please

Odd i found Logain very easy to kill as both a warrior and mage. I thought Ser Cauthren much tougher on higher levels. I hate that biatch more than Logain :-)

As warrior all i did was shield pummel shield bash and overpower and didnt use one health potion.

2h pummel and the auto crits with stunning blows./maybe the sweep

Morrigan can easily beat him, provided you continued with the spell lines that she starts with, Loghain cannot even touch her.

He is also very easy to beat if you play as an Arcane Warrior, you can just duel him face to face, and his health bar will go down much faster than yours.

I beat him as a rogue, it was quite fun and easy.

At the start of the fight he activates Rally (I think), so it takes him like 10 sec to even approach you. In that time you can do a lot of damage. Just throw all the types of poison you have, that way you can hit him with 4 bombs.

If you got stealth lvl 3 he cannot 'see' you, so that makes things even better.

Crikey, I took him out with 3 shots from my human rogue ranger/assassin archer ...

1- went into stealth

2- moved away from him, back behind the stationary party

3- used Arrow of Slaying, then Shattershot (for knockdown), then Critical Shot.



That was it. All over in seconds, poor bugger never moved, never had a chance ...

Make sure you take all the good items off your companions and put them on you if you are having that much of an issue, I always save the best for my self anyway though.

Don't people have health potions? You just need to keep your health above 50% at all time. One swing when it's lower than that and it could be all over.



Stun him and just keep hitting him. Swift Salve to increase your attack speed, unless you're a rogue who is running Momentum etc. and then you don't need that. Potion, potion, potion.

First time I fought him as a rogue I thought I could save time by entering the landsmeet with my companion blight wolf, the wolf did enter the room but that was it...

He could not reach me or loghain during the fight, the people who are watching the fight are standing in the way. Tried the same thing again with a spider, the spider can shoot poison at loghain, but still can't reach us.

So... don't try that.

Like I said before poison is your friend, you can keep him stunned during the entire fight.
