yeah bioware actually imported some of the phone game's stuff into the actual game (i.e. cerberus defector, harrier, lash), couldn't hurt to add MOA THINGS

Look, I was against this until I read your post. It's not a bad idea and the diversity to make it interesting certainly exists.

I like the idea of that little dog mech thing that can Husk grab you.

I've wanted this since the beta. Other people are way ahead of you, too, no offense meant. I've bumped the original thread.

I like the other ones ideas, but overall I prefer mine only because having the mechs be cerberus controlled rather than reaper controlled fits the lore better. I also prefer the mechs stay pure synthetic as we only have 1 synthetic faction, the other idea is a mixed faction.

Weren't the mechs attached to the Blue Suns? Since they are on Shepards side during ME3, it'd be weird, story wise, to fight them. Of course, the Collectors aren't even in ME3 and they work well in multiplayer so who knows.

If story is not a concern, go for it. They'd be an awesome addition !

I've opened almost the same thread LOL I agree with your choices, but not with the Ogre and with the turrets. Probably the Ogre will be just a copy of the YMIR. We don't need him. We have the YMIR as the Atlas and the Rampart as the Phantom. Don't need another boss. The turrets will be very difficoult to implement in the maps, I think they would always remain blocked somewhere unable to move somewhere else. Better a Rocket Trooper, don't you think?

The Ogre would be more of a brute, as the YMIR a banshee. And I did consider a rocket trooper but because there would'nt be a way to make it much different than a geth rocket trooper, I just decided to pass on it. The drones I just figured they managed to do it in ME2 they could probably get it to work for ME3M too.

I thought of a Nemesis/rocket trooper hybrid. It keeps the distance and with a laser scope instead of shooting you with a sniper rifle it engages you for a bombardment in the area near you. Not intelligent missiles like the rocket trooper/atlas/YMIR ones, but more like a grenade formed by a multiple missile fall from the sky (or from him directly in your area). Something like a long distance geth bomber, but who can't throw you his grenades if he doesn't engage you with his laser for a few seconds.

In ME2 mechs weren't controlled by any one group. They were used by many different people. The Alliance used them in the Jacob loyalty mission, the gangs used them on Omega, the quarian used them on Haestrom, and with the Omega DLC Cerberus were using them, that's why I came to the conclusion that maybe cerberus had a ton more they were saving for if they should need reinforcements.

As a new faction, I would say that indoctrinated organic merc groups would be my first choice...

Nothing wrong with that. If anything, incorporate some of his ideas into your post, if you really do like some of his ideas that much.

Mechs are not a property of the Mercs. They are also used by other security services and by Cerberus (if you remember the hacked mechs in the project lazarus base). So TIM produces an army of mechs under his commands and he uses them to distract the N7 operatives while Cerberus fights against Shepard. There's an explanation. Now go with Mech waves!!

Was going to slam this idea outright ... but then i read it and it's not such a bad idea.

But first you'd need a lore (i know lore is not particularly important in MP of late) as to why they'd appear, and as an enemy faction no less.

It's also a slippery slope -- what's stopping bioware from bringing back the merc gangs back as adversaries? Or perhaps PvP based on that? It's not such a bad idea, but I doubt they'll do that

I made it lore friendly in the introduction.

Mechs as I said don't need a lore. They are industrial products, everyone can use them if they buy them. Cerberus uses them in ME2 many times, so nothing can prevent them from continue to buy mechs and use them as a tactical distraction to N7 forces while focusing the army on other N7 squads or Shepard.

I think what she means by lore is just why is cerberus deciding to attack us with mechs, just a back story not so much as lore. But as I said to her, the backstory is in the introduction so.

Well, nothing to say then. But I don't think mechs can be stronger than reaper-ized organic units, they can work well as a distraction, but I don't really care, I just want them in MP xD

I like the creativity and the concept of a new enemy to fight against...but...considering how annoying the collectors are to fight against (relatively speaking & imho), I'm worried of any additional factions added.

Flipside, it would lessen the times that collectors come up in U/U matches so
