Okay, here's what I'm looking to do:
1) Steam/DAO/DAO toolset are all installed on my internal HD.
Is there anyway I can install steam, DAO, and the DAO toolset on an external HD without having to un/re-install steam and all the games from the internal HD? I'm trying to use the toolset at school on the computers there.
*Can I do anything if the schools computers already have steam installed?

A) School computers have steam installed?
It won't work. The toolet needs to connect to the SQL database which only exists on computers with the game installed. Copying over the files does not copy over the working database.

The school computers would require a full install of Dragon Age, the Visual C++ redistributable, Steam if you're using the steam version, SQL server and the toolset. SQL server is the main issue - External hard drives are just storage, they don't run services (such as SQL server).
D) You can re-install all of the programs onto an external hard drive, but it would only allow you to use the toolset on the computer you did the installing on.
