LOL awesome thread.

The best part is all the people calling Ryla a "jerk" then being complete "jerks" in the way the post!

I love double standards!

Frankly if some moron didn't turn off his mic and was playing a loop of ANY music non stop over the mic I would probably be mad as well. I don't want to hear some scrub who keeps dying saying "ehh heh sorry" in the stuffy nose sounding voice either.

And as someone just posted - it's easy to mute, wouldn't that be more reasonable? No how about the idiots with always on mics turn them OFF! That's a lot easier, isn't it? I HATE always on mics.

Troll and Devils Advocate and not the same thing, sorry. Devils Advocate is defending something bad. Troll is trying to get an emotional response.

devil's advocate[/i] is someone who, given a certain argument, takes a position he or she does not necessarily agree with, for the sake of debate. In taking this position, the individual taking on the devil's advocate role seeks to engage others in an argumentative discussion process.

So, that's the definition of Devil's Advocate. Thanks! I didn't even know, man.

Absolutely it would, but i dont know how to do that unfortunetly, could you enlighten me?

I couldn't tell you the procedure on PC or PS3.

Select the offending party. The bottom option in the list full "send message" "review player" etc. is "mute" (or, if you have already muted the player, "unmute".

I do it pretty regularly. Most people with mikes don't use them properly, in my experience.

The real shocker here is that there were PC players using mics.

As I sit here feeding the troll, I do have to wonder if it is even the same person that was playing in the game that spawned this thread though.

Yeah, see that wont actually work on the PC unfortunetly. Rather than the OP asking for a votekick ingame and the lobby. I'd propose that a mute other players was implemented for each platform as you have there with Xbox.
Would work equally well with games that you join where people are speaking swaheli or dutch or something.

You can't mute a player on PC.  Those people with always on mics cause MASSIVE sound feedback for everyone else in the game.  And I've never, ever seen a player with an always-on mic actually use it to communicate.  I refuse to play with someone whose mic is always on.

The bottom line is why did the OP and his friends have always on Mics and why where they playing looping music over it?

That is annoying as hell. Instead of attacking Ryla (and griefing is griefing) but why don't you tell the OP that he and his friends were being D-Bags themselves by keeping the Mic open and playing music non stop over it?

Just pointing out the nonsense and how you guys are having a mob mentality here. OP and friends are just as bad as you are calling Ryla. The way I see it they were griefing Ryla first by being annoying Mic ****s.

(Still playing Devils Advocate- I do not condone griefing in any shape or form.)

well, if there are people keep on bad mouth, swearing, playing stupid music on the mic, I will be really mad too, but I won't act like Ryla. I will just quit the game or mute my headphone. Doing those things you did make you look like a jerk, Ryla.

Here's something we could accomplish. I'm not familiar with the PC interface for the game. I assume it is run through Steam (seems to me just about everything is), so someone on Steam who plays ME3 should contact Bioware and suggest an option for muting other players.

Heck, they could even avoid the hassles involved with doing it on Xbox, by desiging the option so that it can be completed quickly and easily mid-game.

How do you check another player's records/profile when playing on PC? Or is that not an option at all?

I get where you are coming from here and agree it is annoying. However, it was identified in the lobby. I don't know about you, but if my request to turn off the mic in the lobby were ignored,  I would just leave.

And mob mentality seems the goal of all involved. I doubt this topic would still be alive if Ryla were not baiting people to continue.

I agree, it did/does make me look bad, and in retrospect it was the wrong thing to do. However,
for reference http://social.biowar...76&platform=pc
After all those games, good and bad, i've only once ever had to come to the forums to defend myself on something i felt required my input.

You say you wouldnt act like me, and i believe that most people would not in that situation. I wont apologise for being myself or for being annoyed at something that i had every right to be annoyed by. That has since passed and all i'm doing here talking to you folks who are typiclly as any internet gaming community would do, jumping on the politiclly correct bandwagon. I totally understand that, and i do it myself sometimes.

Anyway, the point i was trying to make last night when i was still full of adreneline ( see ME3MP does have that affect, good and bad) was poorly written and inflamitory. I was goading the OP, still am today but less serious on that scale. Two wrongs dont make a right. If and when bioware decide to take this issue up i'll take my punishment and keep rolling. That;s not to say that when something annoys me again i'll just sit idly by and let it happen again. I will not, but i may do it the right way instead of the "i'm taking my ball and i'm going home" way which is fairly accurate as i literally had the ball/pizza lol
