The helmet for the Spectre Defender armor is still the same N7 version as I wasn't able to replace the texture.

However, if you want to make the Defender armor without a helmet just follow the same instructions in the OP replacing the Ajax mesh with the defender

Mesh:

(Mesh=(Male="BIOG_HMM_ARM_SHP_R.FBDa.HMM_ARM_FBDa_MDL",Female="BIOG_HMF_ARM_SHP_R.FBDa.HMF_ARM_FBDa_MDL")

The ID doesn't have to be 8. Just any thing above 0-6.

Amazing work Feral. I am so happy to see armor mods! I was worried that modding was dying in this area; seems like me2 had more armor mods. Really like your new spectre set.

I have one suggestion of something customizable like maybe putting a red spectre logo on the rosenkov shoulders (what used to be kestrel). That way we could switch your work between sets.

something kind of like social.bioware.com/project/3762/#gallery that was given up a long time ago. The author is gone.

Now I didn't make the default Pattern One version of the armor come with a Red Spectre logo because it won't show up on some of the tints; however, I did change Pattern Two's pattern scheme to include the Spectre Logo so now you or anyone can use any color they desire.

I posted this in the other texture thread, but it seemed to get swept up in the excitement of the new ME3Explorer news.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to produce a texture edit for Tech Armor, specifically changing the color.

This was done in Mass Effect 2, as shown in the link below:

I tried messing around with tech armor but didn't have any luck. I'm still relatively new at all this so there's probably some key info I'm missing on how to change it. Might try asking again in the other thread now that it's calmed down.

I can't manage to get it (and the spectre harrier, too) to work.
The Ajax armor is still with the colors of cerberus, just like the harrier, and when i edited the coalesced to remvoe the helmet, game was crashing before even getting me into it. I restored a backup and now it works again. Am i doing something wrong? What?

If those items still have the original colors then that most likely means texmod is not working right. Can't think of any other reason why it wouldn't load those textures.

If you modify the coalesced and it is crashing then you are entering meshes wrong. BSN is horrible about format. Try to either use the project page code or select quote on my OP and copy that code full. Some people might miss that and not get the full code. Also check for any breaks in the line, redundant characters, or missing ones.

Everything I typed up was a step by step process and it does work. Just might have to be methodical in checking what you're doing.

Well...i use the MOTHER OF ALL MODS coalesced, so it's an edited one....
I tried various retextures, and they did not work...none of them. I followed the guide on how to install texmod on origin, and the last passage is not very clear to me...i run the batch file, while the window is open i start the game, then i press 2 times spacebar on the texmod's window, am i right? Have i to do that every time i play, or just once? Thanks for the answers...
Regarding the mesh...i'll try to do what you said once i manage to make the mod work

All I do is run the batch file, hit Y to rename MassEffect3.exe and texmod.exe, open up the Origin.exe and click ME3 to play. Instead of launching the game, texmod will open up. The top of texmod will have a folder icon, click it, and rename the MassEffect3.exe (that's texmod) back to texmod, and MassEffect3_TMP.exe to the original MassEffect3.exe. Once you've done that you select the textures mods you want to use. Hit run and the textures will overwrite the default ones.

You have to do this everytime you want to play the game with the texture mods.

*EDIT: Since you are using the Mother of All mods coalsced file, then you should check the ID of the ajax mesh and make sure that it's not sharing the same ID number as any of the other torso items.

Ah, thanks, i didn't realize i had to do that every time i play...How to check the ID of the ayax mesh, by the way?

Ok, now i got the texture to work, and the coalesced doesn't make me crash anymore....
but i only see that armor as a fullset, and in the chest section of the atmot selector, after all the others, there only is a black chest (like the 'unfinished' spectre armor)

Maybe i'm doing something wrong

I got a question about texmod in general, do I have to start up the game through that every time now in order to get the ajax armor mods?

Ok, tried to use it again, i added the lines in the coalesced editor, but the game crashes as soon as i start it with texmod

EDIT: i tried changing the id of the ajax armor, and the id of the other one that was using the same id....either way, i still crash


EDIT : i managed to get it to work, changing the old one id and then switching the ajax armor and that one's positions. Now it works

FeralEwok, great work! Those look awesome. i wish I didn't have to do a bunch of file hacking to use them.

I've started a there here to request that Bioware give us a skin that doens't break immersion if anyone wants to respond.
