I am currently playing Civ 5 (I'm a Civaholic).

Should I continue playing that, or should I start playing The Witcher?  (I'll likely play on an easier difficulty, since the concept around the combat was uuuuuuuuuuugh.  But I have only ever gotten past the prologue really).

The Witcher. This coming from a guy who's not played either.

Also, The Walking Dead(or you can replay it).

There's this company I heard of called Bioware, they develop some games, I hear some are pretty cool.

Not feeling a Walking Dead itch (I have played it). My itch is split between something strategic and something fresh from an RPG standpoint.

I'm playing The Witcher right now. It's really fun, let me tell you. I can actually play on Normal difficulty without any problems, although I have to Zen my way out of a few situations (hide behind a tree to escape from an evil plant monster, waiting for my health to regenerate). Although it really depends. Are you having a lot of fun with Civ? Are you growing bored of it? It all depends, really.

Hmm, how about Amalur?

My Civ game is at that cusp where winning has become mostly academic, which is a bit unfortunate (was my first playthrough with Gods and Kings though, and I like the religion mechanic. Espionage is lacking though).

Unfortunately I do not own Kingdoms of Amalur. Though I notice I need to download The Witcher (must have uninstalled it at some point!), so in the meantime I can Civ it up :D

Amalur is a lot of fun, but I also thought The Witcher was as well. Get yourself into the second chapter and from there on it's really, really good, IMO.

I recommend getting Amalur, if available. Gotta be cheap now, and its a great game to play when you're waiting between titles you're looking forward to.

I will tough it out in the Witcher early going, and perhaps share my findings since my narcissism means that other people are innately interested in what I have to say about it!

What is it about the combat that you don't like, the QTE aspect? For me the fun part of Witcher 1 combat is watching Geralt execute his moooves, which gets better as you add to the chain attacks. Also in the preparation, i.e. alchemy, which is somehow more satisfying in TW1 than 2.

Tetris.

If it was me and I was close to completing say CiV5, I would finish that then go on to the next game. I tend to focus on one at a time myself else risk losing interest in going back to it later once distracted by starting another title. Even if I am losing enthusiam for current game I still tend to finish it first so the next can have my full attention.

*cheers* Civ 5 is a great game. I'm playing with Persia Empire right now and I think it's the strongest and most efficient civilization in this game (proven for me every time I played as Persia). You can easily win with Persia on (5) King difficulty even in the Gods and Kings.

Downloaded and installed.

As for the cobmat, I remember being told that The Witcher had fantastic combat, so when I realized it was a sequence of timed clicks, I was really let down.

Going through prologue right now. Returning to the training area (Kaed Morhren or something like that >.>)

If you mean 'The Witcher 2,' then play that.

If you mean 'The Witcher,' stick with Civ.

Ah yes, I remember thinking "What, I *must* use a particular combat style against an individual? That seems a bit silly"

Still, going to press on. Just rendezvoused with the group after opening the gate.
